Jan 26th, 2012 at 12:00PM: While Thailand isn't typically thought of as a destination for wine-lovers, there are actually various opportunities in the country to experience vineyards, wineries, and tastings. Whether you want to explore a Thai vineyard on the back of an elephant, try a one-of-a-kind local wine, or have a sommelier guide you through a 10-course wine pairing under a candle jungle waterfall, you can use this ...

Aquariums rock. Anytime you put humans in front of a giant tank of water filled with marine life, the effect is typically the same: profound amazement. Children (and even adults) will stop and stare, jaws will drop and heartbeats will calm. The best aquarium photos, like this one by Flickr user halvora at the Bangkok Aquarium, are able to capture those little moments of epiphany and calm that ...

I just saw beautiful images of Bangkok in a, what turned out to be, surprising skate video. BillabongASIA's Geng Jakkarin is profiled in this video titled "I Skate Because". And while Jakkarin's story is moving and his skate tricks are, well, sick, I couldn't help but fixate on the Bangkok sights and scenes within the short film. The video starts off with a shot of a painted train over a track ...

What do you know about Air Koryo? Probably not much. The state-run airline for North Korea, it's the only realistic way you can fly into the country, unless you have some sort of crazy commando resources at your disposal. Of course, there's a lot you have to do before booking your ticket, and getting a visa can be quite difficult for Americans and other westerners. If you do make it through ...

Have I ever been to Thailand? Nope. Would I drop everything to go tomorrow if I could? Yep. In fact, maybe I'll head there tomorrow. Thailand's culture has always fascinated me and photos of the country have always drawn me in. But it appears as though the United States' culture might have perhaps magnetized some Thai residents.
Check out this video, taken at the Chatuchak Market in Bangkok, ...

Religious ritual is closely connected to everyday life in Southeast Asia, even in the confines of a modern city like Bangkok. Today's photo, by Flickr user Mark Fischer, is of a monk with an alms bowl, a frequent sight throughout Thailand. The man holds the shiny metal bowl in his hands while a distorted reflection of his face stares up from the bottom. The soft orange folds of the man's robe ...

May 14th, 2011 at 8:00AM: A man identified only as a citizen of the United Arab Emirates was arrested in the international airport in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday for the illegal smuggling of animals. At the time of his arrest, he had several suitcases which contained two baby leopards, two panthers, two macaque monkeys, and an Asiatic black bear.
According to this story from our friends at AOL Travel, the 36-year old ...

If you have 4 minutes to spare and a virtual tour through Thailand, Cambodia, & Vietnam strikes your fancy; sit back and enjoy this beautiful montage from filmmaker Ivan Vania.
Shot with a Canon 5D Mark II and set to a soundtrack by Yann Tiersen (composer of the score for Amélie), it's an incredibly vivid depiction of the boat rides, temples, smiles, and landscapes that many ...

After riding elephants, eating scorpions, walking through Hellfire Pass, and visiting the famous bridge at the River Kwai, one of the only items left on our to-do list in Thailand was to speak with people that were passionate about the sensitive political environment. As we arrived back into the city, ...

In the first half of Travel Talk's grand Thai expedition, we've tamed elephants, explored Bangkok's temples, eaten scorpions, taken in a Muay Thai match, and witnessed a train running directly through a bustling market. Now, we're taking you to explore a lesser known province of Thailand for a closer ...

Bustling Bangkok never looked so tiny and cute. Tilt-shift video makes everything look like a miniature play set, and this video of various Thailand locales employs the technique perfectly. The Chao Phraya river that runs through Bangkok looks like a tiny stream in some sort of elaborate diorama, and people taking to the sea in the Phi Phi Islands near Phuket look like small articulated ...

Mar 9th, 2011 at 12:00PM: Since its emergence as an R&R destination for American servicemen during the Vietnam War, Bangkok has had an infamous reputation as a hedonistic den of sin. But look beyond the tired stereotypes to discover the increasingly swish and stylish capital of a booming Asian tiger.
Fueled by manufacturing and heavy industry, Thailand is currently experiencing an annual GDP growth rate of 7.8%. If ...

Ah, Valentine's Day. It's a loaded holiday, one with high expectations. This year, though, I got into the spirit of things: I decided to rustle up a list of the world's great sex museums. Even if you can't pay a visit, their websites are informative and loaded with photos of exhibits. And best of all? You can indulge all by yourself, no relationship needed.

Jan 31st, 2011 at 3:00PM: Being the hostess with the mostess just got more competitive. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Thailand's newest airline, PC Air, is raising the bar on airline personnel. It's the first Thai airline to hire transsexual flight attendants, as part of a pioneering effort to redefine equal rights within the industry. PC Air is slated to debut in April, running charter flights across Asia. The ...
