Apr 9th, 2008 at 3:00PM: The Simpsons is such a TV-institution that it is pretty much enjoyed all around the world. If you think Homer is amusing in English, just try him in Danish. But not everyone finds the classic dysfunctional family humorous. In Venezuela the TV show has been dropped from morning television because it was deemed unsuitable for children. The BBC reports that Venezuela's TV regulator finds that the ...

Oct 19th, 2007 at 9:35PM: If you missed that big things happened at Gadling this week, then all I have to say is, "Where have you been?" Gadling has a brand new look and we're enjoying it. It's kind of like a shiny new toy. Wow! What does this drop down menu do on the left? The information we used to have is all here, it's just relocated and gussied up. Also, perhaps you've noticed the slight name change. Instead of the ...

Sep 25th, 2007 at 9:00AM: While everyone in America is arguing over whether or not Kid Nation is innovative and groundbreaking entertainment or cheap and exploitative thrills, it seems as if the Japanese have once again bested us.
Don't believe me? I promise you - you're in for a surprise!

Aug 6th, 2007 at 4:18PM: Crafty Tribes people in the remote village of Tabaka in Kisii, Kenya have found a way to cash in on a phenomenon thousands of miles away -- British buyers have contracted them to produce traditional carvings which will be sold in craft stores across the UK. The small town received 15,367 votes out of 109,582, less than almost 1,000 more than the much larger Springfield, Il. If my math is correct (and it rarely is), that's 1.6 votes per person in Springfield, VT. Weird! The new Simpsons movie will premiere on July 21 at the ...

Jul 2nd, 2007 at 6:03PM: Remember that story we posted a few months back about the possibility of a dozen or so 7-Elevens being morphed into Kwik-E-Marts to promote the forthcoming Simpsons movie? If you hadn't heard yet, it happened. Eleven stores across the United States were completely remodeled, while 6,000 more joined in the fun by selling Simpsons-themed snacks like Buzz Cola, KrustyO's cereal and Squishees. Here's ...

Jul 2nd, 2007 at 2:58PM: Since the exact location was never explicitly revealed in any episode of The Simpsons, fourteen Springfields across America are currently battling it out to decide which town should be the true home of Homer and family. Each of the fourteen Springfields in the running -- Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio, Oregon, ...

Mar 10th, 2007 at 10:01AM: If you plan your trip right, you can pass through a number of Springfields while driving across the United States. This is part of the fun of The Simpsons television series -- in that, because the show is set in a town called Springfield, it might as well take place in Anytown, USA.
The big question is: which Springfield will get to host the world premiere of "The Simpsons Movie" this July?
20th ...
