Feb 14th, 2011 at 9:00AM: Let's face it: airline lavatories are not the sexiest places. They are small, cramped and smelly – like the rest of the plane, strangely. They are unpleasant places, but they do afford the only privacy you're going to find. So, it's a usual favorite for daring couples looking to join the prestigious "mile-high club." Yes, that club. For those of you not in the know, mile-high club membership ...

Feb 11th, 2011 at 8:00AM: Are you headed into Monday solo? If that's the case, it might make sense to book a quick flight for the most romantic day of the year! Don't spend Valentine's Day on your couch despising Cupid for neglecting you. According to the latest from travel search site Skyscanner, "flyrting" may be your key to happiness.
According to Skyscanner, almost half of all passengers have confessed to flirting ...

Dec 24th, 2010 at 8:30AM: Generally, it's best to avoid an airline lavatory for any reason. It's cramped, smelly and generally not a pleasant place to be. If you're planning to use the lav for something other than its stated purpose, you're going to need to brace yourself. Unfortunately, it really is the best environment on the plane for joining the mile-high club (for those of you not in the know, that means having sex on ...

Dec 23rd, 2010 at 2:00PM: Remember the Air New Zealand Skycouch? It's a new seat that's made the term "cuddle class" pretty popular, as it opens some great opportunities for passenger comfort and mile-high club membership. It's a pretty exciting development in an industry that tends to invest little in customer comfort. The Skycouch makes it possible to turn three economy seats into something of a bed for two passengers.

Nov 2nd, 2010 at 2:30PM: A woman got nailed in the early stages of seeking mile-high club membership. The Qantas passenger was flying form Melbourne to Los Angeles at the beginning of last month. The lights went low, and she and the man next to her let their hands go wild under the blanket. The cabin crew caught on and split up the passengers, who apparently never bothered to try the lav.
The best part: the woman works ...

Oct 5th, 2010 at 3:00PM: Want to get lucky on your next flight? The odds of initiating a perfect stranger into the mile-high club are pretty slim, even if you do know all the right things to say. Of course, you could have a conversation, make a connection and want to make it real on the ground. So, how can that happen? Plugging in and tuning out aren't going to help you much. Instead, you have to roll the dice and be ...

Dec 9th, 2009 at 3:00PM: It was back in 2007 when we first wrote about Lisa Robertson. This former cop turned callgirl turned flight attendant made the news when she admitted to having sex with actor Ralph Fiennes in a Qantas airplane bathroom.
Mr. Fiennes was on his way to speak at an AIDS conference to talk about the dangers of unprotected sex, when he had his unprotected sex with Ms. Robertson.
Since then, she ...

Oct 13th, 2009 at 3:30PM: A flight attendant who used to work on Oprah's private jet is suing for more than $300,000 in damages, claiming that allegations that she had sex with the pilot are false. The story is, as these stories usually are, convoluted and filled with he-said-she-said contradictions. The skinny is: attendant Corrine Gehrls supposedly had "sexual contact" with the pilot outside his cockpit while Oprah was ...

There's a question I'm always asked whenever someone finds out I'm a flight attendant, a question that never ceases to amaze and simultaneously makes me cringe regardless of how often I hear it, a question about you guessed it - the mile high club.

It's been a few years since I've had a nice long layover in downtown Chicago, so I'd forgotten what a truly wonderful city it is. You see, whenever I'm visiting the Windy City my crew and I usually get stuck at an airport hotel, if we even leave the airport at all. So when I got an invitation to speak at the travel blog exchange conference, I decided to make it a long weekend. I also decided to ...

Apr 21st, 2009 at 12:00PM: Joining the mile-high club is bold ... doing it in the crew rest area is beyond praiseworthy. Rather than punishment, awards should be given. But, Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific takes a different view. The airline is investigating this unorthodox use of a Boeing 777, and I'm rooting for the good guys.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, a couple was found coupling in first class seats that fold ...

Apr 6th, 2009 at 1:30PM: It always starts with a drunken model. Always. Cover girl Sarah Hannon was beyond furious when awaking to find her boyfriend, Daniel Melia, engaged in a "sex act" with the woman next to him. It sounds like he had a middle seat and liked it! Hannon fell asleep on a nine-hour flight from Bangalore to London, as anyone would hope to do on such a long flight. Oh, and having bent elbows with boyfriend ...

Checking your watch for the umpteenth time, you sigh, because you're on the airplane waiting in line to use the bathroom and you've been waiting in line for a very long time. What's strange is you're next to go and have been for some time now. What the heck is going on in there?
You probably don't want to know. What you do know is the passenger who went in there ten minutes ago can't be doing ...

Feb 12th, 2009 at 10:30AM: It's the most romantic time of the year - which means companies are releasing all kinds of love related news and surveys. The latest comes from British Airways, who did a quick interview of European travelers, and how often they flirt with their fellow passengers. According to the survey, Germans are the most likely to try and hit on you in the sky, followed by the Swiss. The "passionate" ...

May 31st, 2008 at 4:00PM: The Mile High Club: Myth or realty? The legend of the deed probably far eclipses the actual number of people who have had sex in an airplane lavatory. Most of us have probably heard, third and fourth hand, of someone who's done it. But that's usually where talk of the club ends. Personally, it's not my thing. However, for those out there interested in giving it a shot, Ben Groundwater, who ...

Jan 21st, 2008 at 6:30PM: Reuters reports that "two in three Australian travelers are either members of the notorious Mile High Club or would like to be a member." 1,100 people were surveyed, and more than half wanted an encounter. Twelve percent have actually joined the "club." Maybe I'm not very creative or risky, but it seems as though the nasty bathroom is the only place for such a tryst, and I have no desire to get ...

Mar 27th, 2007 at 11:02AM: Frinton, a small English coastal town, is not exactly a hot bed for swingers. Nevertheless, their Big L radio station is gaining interest among the sexually adventurous, thanks to a contest that offers winners a chance to join the mile high club.
To win, couples need to describe -- on air -- how they're growing old, with the most pathetic tale taking home the grand prize -- sex on a ...

Feb 7th, 2007 at 7:01AM: If the idea of getting freaky while you're miles in the air turns you on, then maybe chartering a flight should be on your short list of things to do for Valentine's. Surprisingly (or not), a small but growing market for people wanting to get their high-altitude lovin' on has emerged recently. Featuring comfy, private spaces -- big enough for rolling around but small enough for two (give or take) ...
