I've seen some crazy urban climbingvideos in my time, but this one takes the cake. It was captured on a helmet cam and follows four teenagers as they scramble up the Moskovskyi (Moscow) Bridge in Kiev, while traffic rushes by below. After a brief conversation in Russian at the beginning of the video, the teens simply begin scaling the steel cables that hold the bridge in place, without the use of any kind of climbing gear or safety equipment. Eventually they reach the top, and even climb inside the main tower, which stands some 377-feet in height.
Judging from the final shots of the video, I don't know what would be scarier. Climbing the bridge, or making your way back down.
So true!!! People dont care about others, nor themselves!!! We live in a society that teaches"if it feels right, do it" So sad!!! Morals and sound judgement is loooonnnnggggg over!!! Smh!
I guess it's pretty obvious that young people universally can be pretty foolhardy and brainless...thankfully, no one got killed with this little adventure.
what if one of them fell, and landed on the windshield of a car below? It would kill anybody in the front seat as well as the one who fell, and probably permanently traumatize anybody else who witnessed it..............
I knew someone would go "ooohhhh!!! but but! they would hurt someone if they fell and landed on a windshield"... Did that happen? Has that ever happened? I don't think it's legitimate here.
Jim, you're an idiot. If one of them fell, they wouldn't fall ON a windshield unless they jumped outward and intended to, which would be suicide and murder, but apparently no one died and no one was hurt, sorry to burst your bubble. So I don't really want to hear about your "what ifs" if they actually didn't get hurt and more importantly they didn't actually hurt anyone else doing it.
They could land on a windshield ,the wind would make that dissensions for them, if big word ,they knew how much high voltage was in those conduits they would have wet pants 23,000 / 38,000 high voltage ,and that would hit a windshield

Kiev is in Ukraine, so the teens are Ukrainians. Also, and unfortunately, no one there cares if they climb or fall. I know, I live there.
bocefus Sep 13th 2011 5:27PM

bratscheldn Sep 13th 2011 3:55PM
WOW. I could sense my blood pressure and anxiety levels rising, and I knew they were safe.
K Sep 13th 2011 5:31PM
In truth, I would have loved to do something like this if given the opportunity. Haha
And really, it's not so bad because it's not like they're hurting anyone else by doing it, so you can't hate them for being brave.

Until then, you can't complain.

They made a commitment and they did it. Very few people do what they say anymore. I respect and admire them for this achievement.
