SkyMall Monday: Portable Laptop Desk
Business travel can get lonely. You're either traveling alone or with colleagues whose company you barely enjoy in the office let alone in a Bennigan's in whatever podunk town in which your company's satellite office is located. All too often, business travelers spend their free time in their hotel rooms working, eating overpriced-yet-mediocre hotel hamburgers and watching a movie that they would never have considered viewing had they been at home. In those painfully boring, sleepless hours in far-flung towns, even the most stoic of road warriors has turned to every man's time-filler of choice: internet porn. By day three of any business trip, you're ready to disregard the fact that your company's IT department is disgustingly aware of every keystroke you make on your incredibly heavy and sadly outdated company-issued laptop and steer your browser towards whatever perverse videos will help you while away the excruciating hours that stand between you and your return home. Here at SkyMall Monday, we understand your pain. And the SkyMall catalog stands at the ready to help you alleviate that tension in a comfortable and dignified manner. Rather than troll the internet for your favorite fetish while sitting at a cramped desk in your depressing hotel room, now you can recline in your (hopefully clean) bed and conduct some business of your own using the Portable Laptop Desk.Think that laying down with your work computer violates the teachings of the
When spending special time alone, correct placement of your arms is key. No longer singeing your inner thighs is simply icing on the cake.Fully adjustable to maximize comfort while in use, the laptop table helps to relieve neck and back pain, and allows for the correct placement of your arms for easy use of your computer... It also eliminates the heat on legs or lap.
Business trips are tedious and draining. Being away from your friends, family and normal routine can make anyone crazy. Rather than let that frustration boil inside you, release the pressure with the Portable Laptop Desk. Just be sure to clean off the keyboard.

Looks like internet sex to me.
E Jun 15th 2010 9:06PM
Gadling should fire you for writing this garbage, Mike Boorish! Your inuendos are not even thinly veiled or cleverly suggestive. I really thought Gadling was better than this.
Tom Jun 15th 2010 9:08PM
Are you kidding me? This is on the AOL homeage? Makes you wonder what the kids are reading? Inappropriate at best!
RGP Jun 15th 2010 9:20PM
And to think I actually was expecting a real product review. Doesn't Gadling have a sleaze filter for its writers?
carole Jun 15th 2010 9:29PM
internet porn wrecks peoples lives...let's be real here. There are a lot of things you can do with your time other than internet porn. Horrible write.

Clearly you have a sexual hang up. What is wrong with internet porn??
Any normal guy and women enjoy it.
You must be real exciting in bed. Get over your hang up...
I feel bad for your man or girlfriend...

This article from Gadling, of all places, was disgusting. We don't LOOK for this kind of garbage, and to find it on AOL's Welcome Screen was unusual. Where do we go to get away from this junk? Poor choice, AOL... poor choice, Gadling.
TDT Jun 15th 2010 9:40PM
I totally agree with all the other comments. How disgusting for AOL
to allow an innocent looking link to a product review turn into some
wierdo comments about road warriors not being able to get past day 3
before they violate their company's IT policies and go porn hunting.
Don't degrade road warriors to your level of thinking. While I'm
sure there are some folks who might use this product and their laptop
for what you suggest, why turn a product review into something else
and insult hardworking business travelers with some lame
generalization. I hope they fire you!! I NEVER write comments, but
this really infuriated me.

What a total surprise that Gadling would ever allow this smut. Gadling has always been a classy read. They need to get rid of this perverted writer.
JD Jun 15th 2010 9:43PM
Ouch, this was not what I was expecting. "Every mans time filler of choice internet porn? I don't think so! Mike Barish your a lowclass jackass! Go back to your cave.
Holly Jun 15th 2010 10:24PM
WTF?????
Jan Jun 17th 2010 7:40AM
I, too, was disgusted by this review, having just read the latest Skymall catalog two times over the weekend during flights. I was looking for a true review. This is filth.
TLS Jun 15th 2010 11:04PM
No.... not everyone does that on business trips. Just because you are a loser doesn't mean everyone else is. Low rent.
Frequent Traveler Jun 15th 2010 11:39PM
Please take this trash down. It wasn't an article, it was a sick guy that is A) crying out for help because of his porn addiction, or B) Really trying to impress his equally shallow friends.
Either way, as much as I normally enjoy reading your articles Gadling, I will have to pass from here on. Clean up your act. No one needs this type of articles on here.
Junklady Jun 15th 2010 11:48PM
I totally agree with RGP, E, JD, CLP, and others. Surprised, shocked, confused, these are just a few of the feelings I had while reading this article. I was expecting a real product review, not an article filled with ridiculous assumptions about everyone that travels for business purposes. Where is the basic information about this Portable Laptop for travelors, such as weight, size (both when opened and closed), and how to use it? It's easy to insert information from the original advertisement (...fully adjustable, helps relieve neck & back pain, etc.). Why not just print the advertisement, and simply forget about printing an article that has no value to the reader who is interested in purchasing this item. I'm extremely disappointed with Gadling and AOL for posting this article. As for Mike Barish, his attempt at writing a clever, witty, smart, cunning and intriguing article was a complete failure in my opinion. Instead, his writing was moronic, simple and offensive, not to mention insulting to those who travel for a living. He, and Gadling, should offer an apology to all of them for his overt insensitivity.

How infuriating! I thought this maybe an interesting article about a skymall product, which I have purchased before. The article's stereotypical depiction of "every man's time filler of choice" is ludicrous, as if the writer was trying to make himself feel better that he is lonely and does this garbage.
I won't even consider buying Skymall products right now because I found this insulting.
Mike Jun 15th 2010 11:55PM
Is it just me or does it appear that laptop thingy is in his NUTS? Look at the pic and see !!!
Lita Jun 16th 2010 1:02AM
I wasn't so much offended by the childish innuendo. I was more offended by the lead-in which led me to believe that the artilcle would be an actual review of the device, the size, the features, the price.... That deception alone is what offends me.
KTB Jun 16th 2010 1:30AM
So I clicked on this guys name to see if I could send him an e-mail directly. His comments about the daily photo were shocking. The site should be flagged with a warning. He is unprofessional at best.
