Oct 23rd, 2011 at 12:00PM: Master Photographer Mark Laurie of Inner Spirit Photography has created an annual workshop that most people only dream about. Revealing Venus, as the program is called, allows five photographers to travel to Italy and photograph glamour and nude models in off-the-beaten path settings in Sardinia. The trip not only includes instruction by Laurie, one-on-one shooting time with the models, inclusion ...

Swimming in water filled with millions of jellyfish may be most people's worst nightmare. But for visitors to the Palauan island of Eil Malik, it's the main attraction.
Situated about 500 miles east of the Philippines, Jellyfish Lake is one of 70 marine lakes on Eil Malik that was formed when the ocean receded over 12,000 years ago. After being trapped in this natural basin, the ...

Nov 30th, 2010 at 1:00PM: It's always wild when passengers do crazy stuff on flights, but the trend has taken a new twist: the media always seems to be present. A CNN photographer was on hand to find bullets left behind by a law enforcement officer, and now a news manager from Newsday was present to witness a passenger stripping.
On Delta Flight 6562 over the weekend the woman, who hasn't been named, peeled off layers ...

We've all seen them, those grainy series of black and white images showing animals walking or nude people climbing stairs or jumping. They've been used in art pieces, music videos, and are part of our visual heritage, but what are they all about?
A new exhibition at London's Tate Britain tells the story of the photographer who took these enduring images. Eadweard Muybridge was a British ...

Only in England, right? The Green Scream (above) at Adventure Island in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, took an unexpected turn last week: a naked one.
In a stunt to raise money for Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation's Bosom Pals Appeal, BBC News reports that 102 people showed up at Adventure Island ready to bare all and ride the Green Scream. The dabbling nudists, most of whom have been ...

Jul 26th, 2010 at 8:00AM: Are you planning to go "clothing optional" for the first time? From what I understand, you can have a lot of fun, but there are rules to be followed. Failing to do so can lead to an awkward situation or worse. Most of this is common sense, of course, which is probably why it's worth mentioning. You can have fun without coming across as a disgusting nut job. I found a list of suggestions for ...

Apr 8th, 2010 at 12:30PM: When the going gets tough, the tough get...naked.
The cabin crew of Air Comet, a Spanish airline, have come up with a creative way to draw attention to the company's recent bankruptcy: a nude calendar. Air Comet isn't the first European airline to have pulled this kind of stunt; Ryanair and Viva Aerobus have also produced more SFW versions.
Through saucy photos that lend further credence to ...

Dec 21st, 2009 at 4:30PM: Joseph Stalin didn't like seeing men nude. A new exhibition at the Marat Guelman gallery in Moscow features a series of drawings of male nude models that the Soviet leader defaced with rude comments. The comments include such philosophical gems as "Don't sit with a bare ass on stones." and "One thinking fool is worse than 10 enemies." Other images bear chatty, mocking comments to ex-comrades of ...

Nov 19th, 2009 at 2:00PM: After having been left alone for a while, California isn't tolerating nudity any more. The state's Department of Parks and Recreation is putting out the word that it will crack down on bare crack this year at San Onofre State Beach. So, if you like to sun in the buff or skinny-dip in the sea, you could be out of luck. Nudists call it a "tremendous setback."
The nudist community worries that the ...

Sep 24th, 2009 at 3:00PM: Apparently, nudity is big in Germany. The German Nudist Association organizes outings for naturalists to nude beaches and campgrounds and now, there's even a special path for naked hikers. Yeah, I said naked hikers.
The 11-mile long trail will run from Dankerode to the Wippertal dam and officially opens in May. The trail will be marked with signs warning hikers that nudists are in the area. "If ...

Jul 2nd, 2009 at 12:00PM: Keith Wright, a New Yorker (damn!) felt restricted by more than just cramped airline seating today. On a flight from Charlotte to Los Angeles, he ditched his clothing and did not respond (vocally, at least) to flight attendant requests to put them back on. The mile-high nudist also wouldn't accept the cover of a blanket.

May 4th, 2009 at 4:00PM: Jan and Eng went through a bar, each sans stitch of clothes. Neither fell down, but they were fined A$1,840 (around US$1,350) each.
Jan Philip and Eng Kai Er walked into a bar in Singapore's Holland Village just for laughs after having a few drinks (big shock ... drunk naked people). This isn't exactly the best place for a thrill, however. Singapore doesn't appreciate the unadorned human form, ...

Mar 31st, 2009 at 12:00PM: Lost your shirt in the market? Thankfully, some destinations will provide service absent one. You won't need shoes ... or pants ... either. Nude tourism is on the rise according to some estimates, and the industry is pegged at $400 million annually. Ready to throw your vacation fund into the mix? Packing, apparently, is easy. Maybe you'll need some sandals or bring a book, and sun block is ...

Mar 13th, 2009 at 2:00PM: You'll do anything for a free flight, right? You'll stand at the counter and yell and scream at some gate agent for half an hour while a line that stretches back to the next terminal wait with looks of increasing contempt. You'll get up in the middle of the night to enter every online contest you can find first. But, would you strip to your skin – in the company of 998 other non-professional ...

Feb 22nd, 2009 at 11:00AM: Put your clothes back on. Fitzroy Island, not far from Australia's Great Barrier Reef, is famous for its nude beach, but a $100 million makeover has taken the fun out of it. This destination for those who detest clothing has gone upscale, and clothing is no longer optional. Several hotels have popped up to accommodate 450 people, shrouding them in suites and one- and two-bedroom apartments. Now ...

Nov 19th, 2008 at 10:00PM: Economic woes got you down? Here's a solution: party nude with the Aussies. A holiday resort in tropical Queensland has planned a month-long bacchinalian for guests to get their naked grooves on. The White Cockatoo Resort, which is located near the town of Mossman, apparently operates on three levels of functionality: nudist, clothing optional and fully clothed for family fun. Sep 3rd, 2008 at 12:00PM: Just last week a judge ruled that sunbathing in the nude at San Onofre State Beach in San Diego is still allowed.
Earlier this summer there was a brouhaha because the California Department of Parks and Recreation wanted to ban nude sunbathing, even though beaching it in the buff has been allowed here for decades.
The parks and recreation department said that some sunbathers were being lewd near ...
