Apr 28th, 2013 at 9:00AM: In June, I'll be traveling to California for nearly a week of bike riding around Lake Tahoe and the California wine country. As much as I'd love to ride to the Sunshine State from my Hoosier home, my wife would be so angry after so many weeks away, I probably wouldn't have a home to go back to. So it looks like I'll be taking my bike on the plane.
For touring cyclists, flying with your bike is ...

The video above depicts a man riding a hand-built, 14.5-foot-tall bike that he built himself. The video, entitled "STOOPIDTALL," indicates that the man, identified only as Richie, intends to build an even taller model to break the record of the "World's Tallest Bike" and says he configured the monstrosity in under 12 hours.

An adventure guide to Paris? Yes.
At first glance, Paris probably isn't the go-to city for outdoor enthusiasts. Metros, brasseries and the Champs Elysées don't really make the top of the list of an adventurer's itinerary. But being the diverse and ever-changing big city that it is, there are plenty of opportunities for those travelers that like to blend their urban tours with a ...

An airport with just one terminal, no tram, zero VIP lounges and woeful public transportation options is the best in North America, according to the Airport Council International. Last week, Indianapolis International Airport beat out every other large facility on the continent for the top Air Service Quality award for 2012. The results are based on passenger satisfaction, and IND won for the ...

Neon colored fruity cocktails consumed poolside with college students and bad house music in the background not really your thing? Spring break can be a lot of things, and it doesn't have to fit the classic stereotype of sunburned jocks taking tequila shots in Cabo.
Spring is that perfect time of year when it's not quite summer but the weather's nicer so you can take full advantage of the ...

On a recent Saturday, the streets were filled with bicycles. Bells rang and horns sounded as the cyclists wound their way throughout the city like a moving train of youth and energy.
This wasn't in Portland, or Paris, or any of dozens of bicycle-friendly cities around the world. This was in Guatemala City, a city known more for its violent crime rates than its progressive bike culture.

Holland's most recent campaign, "Faces of Holland," allows travelers to get to know the iconic facets of the region. Here are the six "faces," and how you can meet them for yourself.
Bicycles
Biking and Holland are almost synonymous. In fact, out of Holland's 16 million inhabitants, 18 million own bicycles, which means there are more bikes than people. With a flat landscape and over ...

This kid sure is excited, and for good reason. When I first started watching this video I thought it would be a cute clip of a small child falling off his bike; however, it turned out to an impressive short film documenting four-year-old Malcolm's first descent biking down Hellion, Highland Mountain Bike Park's longest trail filled with challenges.
After watching this, I'm embarrassed ...

Aug 15th, 2012 at 4:00PM: Colorado is a big state, and most of it remained unscathed during June's wildfires. The Aspen region in particular is known for its knockout scenery, which includes the twin peaks of the Maroon Bells, wildflower-festooned meadows, shimmering aspen groves and crystalline rivers.
With fall foliage (if you've never witnessed the turning of aspens, it's worth seeing) just around the corner, The ...

Why fret over taxi fares, bus schedules and confusing subway maps when you can bike an entire city, street by street? Helsinki is the perfect size for navigation by bicycle. A new rule, that goes into effect on August 6, will give park superintendents the option to decide if they will allow cyclists access to roads that are typically closed to motor vehicles. Those paths would include fire and access roads that are now only used by ...
