Festivals

Welcome to Gadling's Round-up of Unusual Festivals!

We've scoured every corner of the globe to find the world's most unusual festivals. Love quaint local art scenes and parades with ponies? Yeah... you won't find any of that here. When we say unusual, we're talking about festivals that involve men leaping over babies to cleanse their spirits; hollerin' contests; and naked bike-riding. And those are just the festivals you want to take your mom to.

Yes, some of these festivals may sound unusual to you, but we didn't bring you these festivals so you could snicker at how weird other cultures are. We present these festivals as opportunities to learn about other people, other cultures, and other traditions. We want you to get out and explore the planet. There's a lot of cool stuff out there. Go learn about it!

Now that we've gotten off our soapbox, go check out our definitive guide to unusual festivals from around the world. No matter where you're headed, there's sure to be an unusual festival to attend. Let's go!

Jump directly to JUNE, JULY or AUGUST ...
