17 Safety Tips For Solo Travelers {Gadling}
Aug 18th 2012 10:59AM Great travel safety tips!
I was approached by a woman as I came away from a pastry stand in Paris. She seemed a little too friendly (this was Paris, after all) and her poor dentition suggested she was not just a friendly Parisienne wanting to talk fashion with this middle-aged woman. As we approached the crosswalk, I noted the zipper on my cross body purse was fully open. So I zipped it and her demeanor towards me changed instantly and she made a face at some older women waiting on the other side of the street (Gypsies, I think). One of those older women bumped me as I walked past. Once inside and far from the women, I checked and nothing was missing. I was lucky - thieves in the world's big cities are very talented at what they do. Keep everything closed and closed to your body.
