Pilot's Topless Maneuver -- "That's How We Roll" {TMZ}

Feb 4th 2009 4:47AM I am NOT defending his action, but it's quite different comparing cars and aircraft when you talk about taking your hands off the controls and your eyes off the outside world. A properly-trimmed aircraft (that's an aviation technical term) will stay flying straight and level quiet well without anyone touching the controls. If there's an autopilot, it will do so even better, but pilots always trim an aircraft so that they can leave the controls in neutral and not have to muscle the aircraft around just to stay straight and level. Once trimmed, you can leave it alone until it's necessary to change altitude or direction.

Not looking where you're headed happens all the time. Pilots call it "having your head on a swivel". They look all around and scan the sky and they do that a lot. The percentage of time spent looking ahead like you would do much more of in a car, is proportionately lower in an aircraft. A slower aircraft allows a more relaxed situation; so does one flying higher.

What he did was wrong, but it's not as outrageously dangerous as it may appear to non-aviation people. However, it is not acceptable and the FAA has to investigate immediately and ground him.

Breaking: Boyd Coddington dies at age 63 {Autoblog}

Feb 27th 2008 8:26PM Maybe the reason so many of his staff left to work for his mortal enemy was that Coddington treated them like crap. You can't do that to good employees and expect them to stay around long. It doesn't matter how good his cars were, he was an a$$hole and he proved it 30 times in every show. I wonder how much better his cars would have been if he'd treated his people well and kept them around. A *lot* better, I'm quite sure.

Microsoft embedding nerdy photo in Vista DVDs? {Engadget}

Jun 14th 2007 5:24PM For those of you who think this is all something new, Google "easter egg" and skip the ones that aren't related to software. Believe it or not, kiddies, some things were invented more than a month ago and have actaully been done before.

Very Weird Amusement Parks {Gadling}

May 28th 2007 10:33AM What's the matter, "Berkana", don't you like the idea of commies being able to have fun? Do they fail to live down to your stereotype of being godless commies because they're Buddhists, so you have to drag out all of your knee-jerk reactions. You should be thrilled they have religion there, although I suppose since they're not in the Moral Majority, it doesn't count as a religion to you. Maybe you should go to an amusement park and lighten up for a change. And by the way, if you have to label your post as being sarcastic, you should work on learning how to be sarcastic better so people would know you are without needing to be told.
