She is being positive because she did not have a choice in the matter. Single parents are on the rise and kids may not ever know the difference so they embrace and appreciate what they do have if they are inclined that way. However- your right it I feel that if the mother and father play thier roles with love and morality and loyalty for the sake of eachother and thier children and are not seeing difficult times in marriage as a reason to flee -that is the BEST.
Yet...today its incredibly rare

Mar 21st 2011 11:49AM I have been raising my child alone due to her father leaving after 14 years of marriage. I went back to school and work fulltime now for 8 yrs. without dates or intent to remarry. I have gone thru bankruptcy and having to high rent to a friend to live in her bedrooms off her living room. Giving up our home and having no real child support has been a constant stress. Near poverty to pay high rent and bills is always there.
My focus is on my child and today single parents struggle beyond what anyone would ever know if they really care about thier kids - especially when they hit teen years.
I am proud of the dads and moms who are selfless and put their childrens welfare first!

Dec 8th 2010 7:20PM I was married to a man for 14 yrs. who daily wanted to be at his parents and his mother tried to get us to live in a rental 20 feet from her but I put my foot down and moved leaving him there for awhile.
This went on for years.
If a man is not mature enough to put his wife first and his parents second -seeing them at most once a week. I would run for your life!!!!

Sadly an office atmosphere like this is hard to find. So many higher-ups stay mentally in highschool where they cannot encompass appreciating how others are busting thier butts for them to look good.
The best revenge comes to those who put up with that-the sucky job just serves as a wake up call to switch jobs.
