Bride Sues Groom for Leaving Her at the Altar -- To the Tune of $95K {Lemondrop}
Dec 16th 2010 5:21PM It used to be treated as a breach of contract, because engagement was considered to carry a certain level of property obligation (a woman would quit her job, have gifts, etc.) by planning and taking steps to combine their assets - and future assets. It sounds very similar to this kind of situation. She should prevail in this case, particularly if she can prove he was involved in any of the planning, or if she discussed how these expenses would be paid with him (in writing - like an e-mail - would be even better!).
Breaking the Binkie Habit {ParentDish}
Jun 17th 2010 8:43PM I bought my daughter half a dozen binkies, put them in a drawer where she knew where they were, and explained that when these were gone, that would be it. I would not buy any more. Everytime she lost one, we would go to the drawer, look at how many were left, and I would explain again that when these were gone, there would be no more.
When she lost the last one, I never even heard about it. :o)
Michelle Obama Hears Immigration Plea From Girl Worried About Deportations {Politics Daily}
May 21st 2010 3:52PM You seem to be unaware that there is a process to that. you might want to look into what that process is before you open your mouth and reveal your complete ignorance again.

May 20th 2010 2:03PM Really? How many Americans do you know that will take those "good paying" jobs picking strawberries? Getting sick from pesticides? Making shoes for $3 an hour? How many people do you know geting off unemployment - right now - to go take these fabulous jobs?
Michelle Obama Hears Immigration Plea From Girl Worried About Deportations {Politics Daily}
May 20th 2010 1:48PM You don't want undocumented workers here? Stop buying products they produce. Stop patronizing businesses that hire them. Prosecute businesses that DO hire them (hiring illegal labor is also illegal, BTW).
Oh... but, wait.... No janitors at Wal-Mart, no produce in the grocery stores, no chickens from Tyson, no new housing constructed, no garments in the stores (pieced abroad and finished in sweatshops here)...
Yeah... let's just complain about the immigrants, instead. So much simpler.
Testing the Pantless Trend in New York City {Stylelist}
May 16th 2010 9:04PM It's a very cute look if you're under 25 and have those legs. ;o) However, If you want to be taken seriously (like at work), even with a blazer that outfit is just not going to cut it. I'd like to see anyone in that outfit stand up and make a presentation to their client's CEO... LOL!!
Cute, but definitely a bimbo look, I'm afraid.
Glenn Beck Tells NRA Members: Fight the 'Marxists' at the Polls {Politics Daily}
May 16th 2010 2:22PM "Marxist" and "Socialist" are terms the right can't even properly define.
"The left" was a term that identified radical conservatives (the ones who sponsored and carried out the guillotining) during the French Revolution - as that was the side of the government hall upon which they sat.
Remember that Social Security, MediCARE, public education, minimum wage, non-discrimination in hiring and the 40 hour work week are all "socialist" programs. They were soundly opposed by conservatives when they were enacted. Imagine the country they want to take us "back" to.
Female Body Type Men Most Prefer {Personal Articles}
Feb 22nd 2010 10:27PM And who "helps" men decide what they think is attractive? After all, what has been considered attractive has changed dramatically over the alt few hundred years. A hundred years ago, corsets created the "ideal" figure. 50 years before that, no waist at all was defined in womens' garments. Of course, during the Renaissance, voluptuous "Rubenesque" women were preferred. And what is considered attractive in America is not necessarily the norm elsewhere. What is considered attractive is a culturally adjusted concept.
Paranoid TSA checkpoint agents arrest man over harmless Arabic flashcards {Gadling}
Feb 16th 2010 7:11PM "WHY should anyone assume he may be innocent?"
Um... because the entire premise of our legal system is that you are - innocent - until proven guilty.
You want to live somewhere that you are assumed guilty unless you can prove you're not... go to Mexico. They have a fabulous legal system there....

Feb 16th 2010 7:00PM "Really, what does your everyday terrorist look like????"
I guess it depends on where you are... but in these United States, they have several different guises. They look like church goers (who then commit murder in said church), they look like foreigners (who blew up the World Trade Center), they look like ex-military guys (who then blew up the Oklahoma City Federal building), and then there are the many cells of the most famous terrorist organization in this country - one that is still very active to this day -the Klan.
But I don't see the TSA detaining every redneck racist they run across...
