Jan 26th 2012 10:21PM Only as a Days Inn could be done over. That means they changeed the sheets.
Very far uptown. It is obvious you want the cheapest place. Don't do that in NYC. You will never want to return and spend more money on transportation than yu can imagine. You don't want to spend all the taxi fare, bus fare or be caught taking a subway up there at night. For safety stay in Times Squaee area or any hotels that are estblished on the near west side.
Days Inns are the worst everywhere. That is their reputation. Don't be a victim of marketing. Spend more money unless you go to NYC every 2 weeks. Go to Trip Advisor. Usually tourists find the west side of Manhatten no farther than the upper 70s and down to 25th St. the best hotels and safe, reasonable and many walkable to dights that typical tourists want. Downtown in the 9/11 area is a great place to stay with easy transportation uptown. Restaurants everywhere.
Do you homework. Go to a book store-- Barnes & Noble. Look at NYC current guides. Make notes. You don't have to buy the book..Call front desk of hotel choice. Ask direct questions. Call daytime when gen. mgr. is working. If you get the " bum's rush" & NYC attitude, say you will go to another property to find space and courtesy.
Do your homework. Don't go on everyone's advice. Make your own decisions. Can't go wrong with any Sharaton, Westin, aLoft, etc. or anything from the Starwood group go to: starwood.com
Look at less expensive brands on west side.

Make the reservation far ahead of time yourself and talk to the property itself not an 800 number that has no idea of the location or hotel itself because they have never been there. Ask cost of parking if you will have a car. Ask for walkable places to eat. Ask how many front desk people work the graveyard shift. Ask about on site security. Do nothing if you don't care and price is the only factor Avoid mom & pop places and the cheapest national chains-- Days Inns, Holiday Inns, Red Roofs, Comfort Inns, etc. Always go to Trip Advisor for negative and positive reviews by former guests that have recently stayed at same location. Ask if houskeeping is 24/7. Ask if there is 24/7 securityon the property. Parking fee?

Anywhere in the world, choose a Starwood property. There are 9 brands to choose from. Enoughfor any price range preference but all reliable. starwod.com
NYC has the most of all the worst because of its popularity and uneducated tourism. Do not chose any hotels that sell to groups or conventions. Call the front desk not an 800 # that does not work at the property itself. Do your homework if you care at all. Use Trip Advisor and take your time to read and clic away. Don't wait till the week before to make a reservation and don't expect space available in the summer when most naive tourists travel for their yearly vacation to places where everyone else travels.

Most people overpack, hate the lines, realize there is nowhere else to go, wander, get too friendly, spend money they don't have for the extras they never thought about, etc.
These cities at sea haave nothing to do with the experience of being at sea or on any vessel meant to sail the waters of the world.

The thick skulled people at Arete should be happy they have such a good tenant. they should not think a pit bull is any different than a poodle or any other breed. It is owners and humans that mistreat and abuse a dog that makes them get a bad reputation as a breed.
Get the mayor of Louisville and all citizens to sign a petition for yu. Joe's Crab Shack as well. Tell you boss to offer a gift certificate to a donor who will pay the fee if landlords insist.
The worst scenerio is asking you to move. Negative publicity will keep future tenants from renting. Use a fund raiser to keep Sunny. Use the local media. If the horrible person who threew the dog in the river is ever chaught, he should be chained and thrown off the same bridge and offered no help.
