Mom's Voice Is as Comforting as a Hug, Study Shows {ParentDish}
May 14th 2010 2:47PM My mom was sick for many many years and whenever I would call, the conversation would always turn to her dr's appts, meds, etc. Then, she moved from Chicago to Florida about 5 yrs ago. I tried calling at least once a week but honestly got tired of the "same" conversation and would sometimes just have to let her go. Well, my mom passed away last October...what I wouldn't give right now to hear all about her dr's appts, meds and whatever else she felt like rattling on about. Wish I would have learned that lesson a bit earlier...though now I talk to her everyday.

Poll: Obama is Dreamer in Chief {Politics Daily}
Jun 10th 2009 3:08PM thank you pundit...i have used this quote before and boy, does it fit at this moment in time
"the test of a first rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function. one should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise."
i wonder just how many people commenting here are able to do this?...i'm always entertained by the folks who just can't let go of their left/right wing extremism...they are no different from the ones they are criticizing

May 21st 2009 3:15PM Rich...just to let you know, if you want to take advantage of the big price break with milk sales, you can always freeze the other gallon. When it thaws in the frig, give it a shake and you can't ever tell the difference and lasts just as long as usual.
Rush Limbaugh Resigns Post As Republican Leader? {Politics Daily}
May 21st 2009 12:31PM The ignorance on these boards is astounding." The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function. One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise." Take it for whatever it's worth. And people, regardless if you are Democrat, Republican, Muslim, Christian, Black, White or purple...please learn how to spell.

Airline Celebrates 5th Anniversary with Free Flights for All {Gadling}
Oct 24th 2008 12:41PM Didn't one of our airlines try to do something like that (free flight) here?....hmmmm, I wonder
Hi Jo, you're not alone...my mom moved to Cape Coral, FL a few years ago (we're in Chicago)...I've been able to take my daughter down there each summer except for this year...mom, of course, is upset tht she won't see us...we are, of course, upset that we can't get down there to see her...the price had more than doubled for the two of us to go (last yr paid $175 RT for each ticket - now, it's over $400 each)
And, last year's flight to visit friends for the weekend in Minneapolis only cost me $85 RT...this year, airlines were asking for over $350 in some cases to make that same trip...whaaaaat?...it's only an hour or so flight!
Does anyone think the price of airfare will go down since the price of oil has dropped to around last year's cost?...Any intelligent speculation will do
The six things you need to get perfect skin {That's Fit}
Jun 21st 2007 12:48PM I suppose everyone has their own preference when it comes to skin care...so let me share my own:
If you've never tried the "philosophy" brand by sephora, you simply don't know what you're missing.
I'm 43 yr old and had oily, break out prone skin with those pesky lines starting all over the place. But with this line of product (skin, hair, fragrance), there is such a dramatic change in my skin that I can't believe it. And, when coupled with the bare minerals make-up, I don't think you can beat it.
I've tried the other brands (BeautiControl, Mary Kay, L'Oreal, etc.)mentioned here and was very glad when I found this one. The cost is comparable to the others and you can find it on philosophy.com, QVC (great deals) and even Ebay (sometimes fantastic deals)...if you're having trouble with what you're currently using, I suggest giving this a shot. I think you'd be very, happily surprised. Good luck ladies!
