Hotel And Event Hosts Sued By Family Of Girl Killed Sliding Down A Banister {Gadling}

Jul 28th 2012 1:30AM I once stayed at that hotel for a week of meetings and a convention. I drank quite a bit at times but wasn't stupid enough to take the party into the stairwell and slide down the bannister. There are elevators. Were they supposed to hang safety nets incase people got stupid? Was this woman an elementary school teacher or an elementary school student? It's sad that she died but she chose to drink and she chose to get on the bannister. People are always looking to blame someone for the death of a loved one, even when it was a stupid accident instigated by the person who died

A light sleeper's lament: six things you shouldn't do in a hotel {Gadling}

Jan 14th 2012 2:08PM You may want to stay in more prestigious hotels. Go out to breakfast and tell the front desk that you do not want any calls. Then take the phone off the hook. Hang up the do not disturb sign on the door and people will be less likely to talk directly outside your door. You need to realize that not everyone is there on vacation. You sound like you stay at hotels that are more likely designed for the business traveler and that means people getting up at 5am. Not everyone gets to sleep in. Not everyone brings their children. You should better research the hotels. The calls the front desk called you with sounded like good service to me. In fact, You may want to stay home all together.
