Instead of Utah as a ski destination, head to New Mexico {Gadling}
Nov 19th 2008 3:48PM You know, for everyone thinking of boycotting Utah there's someone else who rather likes the thought of a gayless state. So go ahead.
Oh, feel free to express your outrage at the thought; it's your right.
World's Strongest Whisky {Slashfood}
Feb 27th 2006 1:40PM "the drink takes effect immediately, so by imbibing any more than two spoonfuls, 'it would presently stop his breath and endanger his life'"
Uhmm, I think I'll pass. I'm sticking to my Glennfidich 18 and Johnny Walker Blue Label.
Iran Seeking Direct Flights to U.S. {Gadling}
Jan 26th 2006 3:28PM Oh my God! The security arrangements that people taking these flights (if they were to happen) would have to go through would make El-Al personnel look like ticket takers at a mall movieplex.
Drink Review: Bustelo Cool {Slashfood}
Jan 23rd 2006 9:29PM Good find. I'll look for it. However, I want to know something. Aren't you the same person who dislikes flan? FYI, there's nothing better than a demitasse of Bustelo coupled with a good piece of flan.
Of All Custard Desserts, Flan is the Worst {Slashfood}
Jan 13th 2006 9:48AM I agree with Berkana, badly made flan is not "Good Eats". However, my home made flan is always a killer. I have a number of variations, pumpkin, Kahlua, orange, etc. I even make a hybrid of cheesecake and flan that everybody in the family loves. It has a nice texture but the sweet flan flavor.
Funny thing is, I got all of those recipes from the Food Network.
From King Kong to Batman? {Cinematical}
Jan 9th 2006 10:21PM What's with all the brits playing every role but Morgan Freeman's?
Sydney: Sydney Tower Skywalk {Gadling}
Dec 28th 2005 2:48PM OK, why can't we have this in New York? I could see the Empire State Building selling tickets with reservations for a similar tethered walk outside the spire on the 102 floor a la King Kong. It would be incredible. The closes we will have in the US is the glass walkway 4,000 feet above the Grand canyon on an Indian reservation. Nice but not New York. The Las Vegas Stratosphere tower has that amusement ride also. It swings you 1,200 feet above the Las Vegas strip. Again, nice, but not New York.
Poseidon trailer strikes! {Cinematical}
Dec 14th 2005 11:19AM Hey Kevin, nice to see that tha some people love "The Poseidon Adventure" that much. I have a soft spot in my heart for that movie. It was the first movie that I saw without my parents taking me to the theater. It also made me buy the paperback and it became the first "adult" book that I read in full. I also bought my first "Mad" magazine because it had a satire of the movie. Ahh, godd times! I loved "The Perfect Storm" and I look forward to Petersen's new version. I'll also make sure to check out your site. I agree with you on the mess that NBC hoisted on us last month. The terrorism twist really over-complicated things. Instead of a tragedy it became a horrible crime against humanity that would have surpassed 9-11.
Growing Up Lecter {Cinematical}
Sep 4th 2005 5:08PM Wait! having his parents murderd turned Hannibal into a cannibal? Shouldn't it have turned him into a crime fighter instead? I thought that it was watching his familly being eaten by starving nazis during a winter siege in WWII that gave him a taste for humans. That will turn anyone into a cannibal.
