The Amazing Race All-Stars: Episode 12 Recap (The Finale!) {Gadling}

May 10th 2007 3:15AM After 28 days and what, 12 legs, a few dozen race segments made irrelevant by bunching at travel facilities, the three remaining pairs arrive perforce on the same flight.

Then the outcome of the game is decided by a guessing game, in which the team that gossips the most is the best positioned to win. It was a fairly interesting task, but really, should it have been positioned as the sole determinant of the final outcome? It would have been a good way to end the previous leg, although a really clever team would probably have a system of automatic question responses prepared, such as the lowest possible numbered or alphabetic code. If there is ever a task like that on the show again, I trust at least some of the teams, including whoever does it the most quickly, will be thus prepared.

Then, the final leg could have been entirely around the Bay Area, taking the teams to places like Monterrey, Alcatraz, Chinatown, the wine country...so many interesting spots around there...over a two-hour show, and chances are we would have an authentic, deserving winner instead of an essentially random one.
