Zingerman's Deli: Is a $15 Sandwich Worth the Price? {Gadling}
Jun 10th 2011 2:58AM I live a little farther - in southern California ! ! ! But, I get back to Detroit - about every other year, for two weeks of fun with both my "downstater" and "UPers." I always manage to find time to get to Ann Arbor - and always make it a point to stop by Zingerman's. The place is a little slice of heaven on earth - you notice it from the moment you walk in . . . . the sights, the smells, the "sighs?" LOL ! ! ! Without exception, I always buy some of their cured meats - and pack them to take back home. The only regret about the trip - occurs when I run out of the salami, etc., after returning home. In fact, there have been times that I've eaten everything before leaving Michigan ! ! ! Great place - don't forget to take something home with you . . . . it's worth the expense. Besides, Ann Arbor is a beautiful town - complete with a beautiful campus ! ! ! Well worth the effort - and whatever you do, don't forget to try some of their specialty side dishes ! ! ! They too are delicious ! ! !

Southwest Boots Thin Flier for Overweight Teen {AOL Travel News}
Jul 27th 2010 2:38PM Airlines do a lot of stupid things - as do pilots and flight attendants . . . . That said, Southwest does an outstanding job most of the time . . . . I've never had a real "gripe" with Southwest - I can't say that for any other airline - and I've been flying for over 45years . . . . Americans are a bunch of cry babies - when they don't get their way . . . and I'm sure there is a lot more to the story than what we've been told . . . . Even though I've been seriously inconvenienced in the past - once by waiting over an hour for "delayed passengers" on a connecting Virgin America flight . . . . delaying a "plane load" of passengers - for a few Virgin America "connecting passengers" seemed a bit much to me - expecially since it was a SFO to SAN flight (San Francisco to San Diego) . . . but the airline, in its infinite wisdom, delayed over 80 other passengers - for those few. What upset me most - was the promised (and delayed) boarding times and updates, which went on for over an hour . . . still, I didn't write or complain to Virgin America . . . . I spend my time writing to the airlines about my "positive experiences" as those folks are the ones who deserve my attention . . . . I'm sure Southwest did their best to remedy the problem - but it is obvious that getting to your destination two hours ahead of schedule isn't enough for the "cry baby" crowd . . . get over it ! ! !

Jul 27th 2010 12:53AM Seems to me the airline did the best they could under the circumstances . . . I fly "cattle car express" a lot . . . . and I prefer it over nearly all of the other airlines. I just flew American from East to West coasts flying through DFW . . . and I would much prefer Southwest Airlines over American . . . . I can't stand the "problem children" with their carry-on bags and the continuous announcements by the attendants - on how to best stow your bag(s) so they will fit in the overhead compartments . . . . They created the carry-on problem, by charging passengers for luggage in the first place . . . . Now we're all paying for it - in huge costs of frustration, money, and mindless announcements. You just can't satisfy everyone - but, in my mind, getting to your destination two hours ahead of schedule and getting paid for the inconvenience is more than what many of the other airlines would have done . . . . or maybe you haven't been reading about the delayed 9-year old on United or the other horror stories on other airlines . . . . Southwest deserves credit for doing the best they could.

Feb 25th 2006 8:53PM Don't forget the U.S. Armed Forces include men, women and nearly every ethnicity. Some of these heroes are gay. They fight and some die to protect free speech, including someones right to burn a flag OR make Lego BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN scenes. Dave, I hope you enjoy the free speech our fighting men and women preserve so you can skew another's by judging their agenda.
