5 Unfinished Landmarks Worth A Visit {Gadling}
Apr 24th 2013 12:34AM This brief article leaves a lot out of the story of Crazy Horse... mountain and man. I believe an angry family member destroyed part of the sculpture once, costing a lot of time and money. Since the death of the original people involved, progress has been slow... a lot of contention and squabbling has gotten in the way. While the head resembles actor Will Sampson, nobody knows what Crazy Horse, the man, looked like. He was adamant that his likeness not be reproduced. By all truthful accounts, he was a remarkable man... on a short list of my personal heroes.
Jail Time for Phoenix Man Who Hosted Bible Study at His Home {AOL Real Estate}
Jul 8th 2012 6:31AM Guess what? Even Christians are required to follow the law. Religion has nothing to do with it.
Texas Family Wins Fight Against HOA to Keep Pet Kangaroo {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 6th 2012 1:15AM People buy in these restricted communities because they like the idea of conformity, rules and order, and abhor free wheeling originals. However, when they no longer find it convenient to conform, suddenly the rules are meanly unfair. I seriously doubt the kangaroo is more 'theraputic' than a golden retriever, but if that is what they think, they should move to a residence where no one cares about their 'roo. This will never be an issue for me because I would never choose to live somewhere I'm not allowed to do what I like on my own property (and because I don't like kangaroos much).
After Backlash, Man Evicting 98-Year-Old Mother Relents {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 3rd 2012 12:12PM Getting a stubborn mother out of her house and into care where she will be safe and adequately cared for can be a huge problem, and from experience, I am on the son's side. I had this problem, Mom was not safe in her home, I spent all my time looking after her and/or worrying, the more I tried to help the more suspicious and abusive she became, a terrible cycle of anger, tension, and repeated hospitalizations resulted. She ran off every person I hired to help her. Finally I just took her directly from the hospital to an assisted living facility, where I had arranged as much of her 'stuff' as would reasonably fit. I told her the hospital and doctor would not let her leave the hospital except to some care facility (she always rejected living with my wife and self, claiming she did not want to impose... never mind I had time for nothing but caring for Mom as it was). She complained bitterly, to everyone who would listen, and many thought I a terrible son, but her health improved and with it her attitude. She lived another 5 years there and made many friends. By the time she died, with me at her side holding her hand, she liked me again. My advice... do what you gotta do to keep your old ones safe.
Pray, Mont.: Buy the Whole Town for $1.4 Million {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 1st 2012 9:37PM I lived in Pray, got my mail from Ruby at the store/post office, her husband Tavner did the livestock inspections on my horses. The Valley is now shoulder to shoulder McMansions, like mushrooms on an old burn after a good rain... pilgrims galore. Mike Adkins is trying to turn the old gravel pit, there in south west part of the Pray metropolis, into a tire dump, and the NIMBYS have their panties wadded tight. 1.4 mil? 1400 hundred bucks, maybe. Not much to Pray these days.
Was Ryan Seacrest offensive to Oscar nominee Demian Bichir? {Celestrellas}
Feb 27th 2012 9:00PM Seacrest is a clueless nitwit... who is just now figuring that out? To be fair, he probably isn't racist. You have to think about what you think to qualify, and he is much too vapid for any introspection.

Kenneth Robinson, $16 Squatter, Kicked Out of Upscale Home {AOL Real Estate}
Feb 7th 2012 12:20PM ...sounds to me like the law is adequate enough, what they need is some enthusiastic enforcement.
Sure are a lot of 'in your face' racists on here... one would think someone would screen that behavior a little better.

Nik Wallenda: the daredevil who will tightrope across Niagara Falls {Gadling}
Jan 10th 2012 11:51AM ...and old Karl eventually fell to his his death. It is amazing, though, what this family has done, and for how long. I doubt if I will be headed to Niagra, but would definately cruise down to the Grand Canyon for that one.
