London museum airbrushes out Churchill's cigar {Gadling}
Jun 18th 2010 3:30PM "Faster than you can say Dresden Bombing"? Excuse me, have I missed something here?
Has Gadling transformed from travel blog in to a historical comment blog? If so perhaps our correspondent should explain what he intends by this remark? Seems somewhat out of context to the subject matter of the article to me. Is this an attempt to cause offence or put something missing from the article in to some kind of context?
Please explain.
Ask Gadling: What if I don't speak the language? {Gadling}
Jun 16th 2010 2:15PM I'm currently on holiday and my German is very limited. However, the Swiss are the linguists of Europe and you'll have no difficulty with getting your message over, most Swiss will start to speak English at you when you start speaking to them, even if you try to persevere with German, they'll pitch in with sometimes word perfect English and help you out.
The biggest shock you'll have are the prices. This is the most expensive place I've ever been. The supermarkets will be your friend, get to know Migros and Coop, they're the only place you can get anything at anywhere approaching European, let alone US prices. Larger branches also have pretty good restaurants where you can eat at a reasonable price. Beware though, many places outside cities close for lunch!
All in though, this is a great country and make maximum use of it's world class public transport.
The TSA took my baby story: The relationship between psychology, customer service and traveling with a young one {Gadling}
Oct 18th 2009 4:23AM No. She's just a plain out liar, who thought she could generate some traffic for her site by fabricating an encounter with the TSA, who she didn't imagine would so effectively and efficiently fight back.
She faces web ridicule and, frankly, deserves it.
