As a former Torontonian, now "temporarily trapped" in Dallas, TX - I have come to rely on your posts to keep me in the "international" frame of mind which is sorely lacking here.

A Canadian in Beijing: FOR SALE! Live Animals (Trapped) in Small Cages {Gadling}
Jun 19th 2007 7:44AM This is a kind of disturbing aspect of China. It's odd to see it in major cities too! What freaked my wife and I out was the "Wet Market" that we peered into in Tai-Po (suburb of Hong Kong). All the animals in cages and the slaughtering taking place on tables inside this large hall with guts all over the floor and completely dirty!
We're not vegetarians, but we didn't even go inside as it turned us right off...

Apr 30th 2007 11:07AM Please keep up the excellent blog! I'm a former Torontian as well now living in Dallas, TX and your stories and photos remind me when my wife and I visited my mom in Hong Kong 3 years ago (she lived there for 5 years).
I really enjoyed the little of China that I saw and long to return.
