Jun 17th 2009 6:45AM First, no one person can watch a child of any age 24/7. Second, have you never swallowed something you should not have, or touched/played with something that got broken? Perhaps stepped on the cat or dogs tail - even gave the their tail a pull?? Last, but not least, had the parents explained to the child what the toilet was for, people not pets?
I do not think the child meant to hurt the dog...if he did, we will surely be reading about him in the news sometime in the future. Right now, he (the child) needs a lot of education as to how and what he is feeling and what he did, along with how to properly raise a puppy and consequences. The puppy needs lots of hugs and rubs.
AND, maybe the parents need to be educated as well as to what the needs are in raising a puppy. Raising children and animals of any kind is NOT a given.
