Tip of the Day: Help preserve the flavor in dried herbs {Slashfood}
Mar 13th 2008 12:56AM Debi - I've found that works really well too, especially with certain herbs like parsley and oregano.
Verena - if I prepare a large batch, I freeze them in small packages once dried, and find they come back just as nice as ever once they have thawed again

Seven Sins of dining out with kids {Slashfood}
Jul 25th 2007 2:53PM My rule, when dining out with my daughter, was always:
Don't be hypocritical - If you are ordering a "fancy drink", then by all means let them have the Shirley Temple. Skipping the milk one night really won't hurt them.

Jun 6th 2007 11:01AM elliot - we like the technology and politics as well, but they can already be found (in great abundance) on sites like Digg, etc. You may notice these topics are noticeably absent there though - that is what makes this cool.

Apr 30th 2007 12:59AM D Murray - not harsh. If I haven't tried a product though, I try not to take a stance on it. We like to discuss what is new on the market, and hear what you have to say about it once you have tried it.
You should hear the replies we get when we do state our opinion on something though, volatility often ensues ;)

Do you say "look it up?" {ParentDish}
Mar 9th 2007 7:17PM I'll tell my daughter to look it up quite often, but in our house that means check the internet rather than an encyclopedia. Sometimes I just answer though, it really depends on the question. Like Ann said - morality, sex, and the like are all me too.
When she asks me how to spell something though, I only have one answer. D-I-C-T-I-O-N-A-R-Y.
