Multigenerational Homes: Real Estate's Next Big Thing as More Families Share a Space {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 25th 2012 3:18PM This is called the extended family residence model. This model was the norm in our country prior to WWII. In the 1950s we saw a push to the nuclear, or traditional, model. Beginning in the 1980s, the extended model began resurgence, and today it exceeds the nuclear model as the most common form of the residence models in the United States. Interesting that many are discovering this as a new and great idea today. There are many advantages to this residence model, economic reasons being among the most popular. But, there are other reasons it is good as well. It promotes family unity, underscores the importance of generational diversity, and offers a platform to perpetuate family tradition.

Eynhallow: Visiting Orkney's Haunted Isle {Gadling}

Aug 4th 2012 3:16PM If excavations can be done to see "what" is there, then we can begin to look at the "why." Dating ruins may give us a window into the time it was occupied. If, say, it was during a time of political upheavel, then one possibility is that they were banished to the island. We'll have to wait an see what develops. Could be very interesting and fun to work with.

Trouble Blooms: Condo Board Sues Resident Over Flowers {AOL Real Estate}

Mar 20th 2012 9:15PM Someone on that board is so silly. We hear about people with a little power and how hard they will push it. This seems to be the case here. Really now, they send her fines every month in a letter. For planting flowers in front of her home? It seems the best solution might be to "retire" the board and put her in charge of beautification instead. She's obviously good at it.

Police Use Pepper Spray to Subdue 8-Year-Old at School {ParentDish}

Apr 6th 2011 1:31PM It would seem the only "excessive" behavior came from the little boy. The problem isn't with the police. If the only way to subdue an explosively violent boy is to spray him, then they spray him. The mother does not seem to grasp the danger her son is putting others in.

20 Questions With Reality TV Star Nene Leakes {BV Newswire}

Mar 13th 2011 7:37AM I should also add that I stopped watching "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" because I was tired of watching her yell and try to intimidate the other people on the show. It wasn't entertaining to watch her behavior. It was pathetic. When did "real" become code for abuse?

20 Questions With Reality TV Star Nene Leakes {BV Newswire}

Mar 13th 2011 7:29AM Nene Leakes "is" abusive. Her idea of "in your face" is abusive behavior. You don't have to lay a hand on someone to abuse them. The fact that she doesn't know the difference makes her a very poor spokesperson. Given her consistently abusive behavior towards others, there must be a lot of people saying to her, "Get off my side." Her fifteen minutes was over before it got started.

Family Claims Flight Crew Did Not Help Dying Passenger {AOL Travel News}

Mar 3rd 2011 7:34PM Advertising a defibrillator onboard the flight carries an assumption that the crew are trained, and if necessary, would use the device. Letting all passengers off before the ill woman is egregious behavior.

And, what’s up with the Delta lady? This isn’t about her.

Jacob Volkmann Plans to Ride Wave of Attention After Obama Comment {MMA Fighting}

Jan 11th 2011 2:20PM The stimulous package was a success. The healthcare bill is the best healthcare has been for the middle class--ever, and President Obama did not do the bailout. George Bush did the bailout, and yes, it was for his friends. Right motive. Wrong president. If you wish to argue, get your facts straight rather than mumble something you heard somebody say.

Jacob Volkmann Plans to Ride Wave of Attention After Obama Comment {MMA Fighting}

Jan 11th 2011 2:17PM I absolutely agree with you. I have never seen so little respect for a sitting President before. Of course, it's because he is Black. People who feel superior simply because of a fact of birth, rather than some expertise they might have earned always talk like that. It racism pure and simple--no denying it. I had no idea there were so many closet racists until Obama was elected President. It's a sorry comment on our society that we have that much prejudice and ignorance in this day and age.

Margaret Cho Says Sarah Palin Forced Bristol to Join 'Dancing' {PopEater}

Dec 6th 2010 6:56PM Or....right. Could be, she's simply right, you know.
