Making comfort foods healthfully {That's Fit}

Jul 11th 2008 12:19PM Hi Maggie,
Thanks for mentioning Cranky Fitness!

Sometimes my attempts to alter recipes to make them healthy totally backfires (For example I just made some really terrible low-fat macaroni and cheese last night).

But other dishes seem to taste just fine when you mess around with them, and for me, meatloaf is one of them. Other people, of course, totally disagree! It really is a personal thing which classics you can doctor and which you just have to leave well enough alone and not eat very often.

Fit Links: Strong arms for summer {That's Fit}

May 13th 2008 7:40AM Aren't MizFit's video's great? It really is easier to learn how to do something when she shows you.

And thanks for mentioning Cranky Fitness! One of these days, dang it, I'm going to master that pull-up.

I hope.

Fit Links: Get out your bike! {That's Fit}

May 6th 2008 9:34PM Thanks Bethany!

I was afflicted with Bicycle in the Basement Disorder for years and years. But now that I've finally gotten the bike fixed and started to ride it around again-- I'm totally loving it! I don't know why I waited so long.

Plus, when you whiz by cars stuck in traffic and don't have to fight for a parking place (not to mention burning calories and building up your quads while you do your errands), you get to feel so smug! And I love to feel smug.

Want to run faster? Run uphill {That's Fit}

Mar 19th 2008 4:42PM Just ten seconds? Awesome. There aren't many things you can do for just ten seconds that will bring any kind of results--and even I can handle ten seconds of uphill running. Thanks for the tip!

George Clooney explains Hollywood's latest cosmetic surgery craze: Ball ironing {That's Fit}

Mar 14th 2008 9:31PM Gotta love George.

And kudo's to That's fit for having the, um, guts to run a post on "ball ironing!"

I have a distinct lack of scrotal information on my blog, perhaps I'll have to look into this.

(I do however, have a least one post on Penis Length, for whatever that's worth:

http://www.crankyfitness.com/2007/06/men-worry-more-about-penile-size-than.html

I somehow doubt George has any worries in that department.

MizFit: Up close and personal, every Monday {That's Fit}

Mar 6th 2008 10:18AM I agree, MizFit is a lot of fun. Definitely a blog worth visiting!

Is Paige Davis going to pose nude? {That's Fit}

Feb 25th 2008 2:33PM I'm looking forward to a time when male celebrities routinely get asked to pose nude and not just the women.

But until that time, I'm all for bare booties, whoever's they are.

Paige sounds really fun--glad you both had a great time with the interview.

(Alas, there's no nudity today at www.crankyfitness.com but we'll try to work on that.)

Five 'veggies' that really don't count {That's Fit}

Feb 25th 2008 12:38AM Dang it, sorry for the double comment! If I knew how to delete duplicates I would.

Five 'veggies' that really don't count {That's Fit}

Feb 20th 2008 11:43PM I agree that it's pretty funny the way people will count a pickle on their cheeseburger as a vegetable.

On the other hand, when the article says vegetable tempura or veggie deep dish pizza don't count, it's kind of confusing two questions:

1. Is there enough of a nutritious vegetable there to count?

2. Is the meal unhealthy anyway because it's full of junky stuff you shouldn't eat?

Seems like you should still be able to count good vegetables even if they hang out in bad company. Just make it a priority not to eat too much junk in your diet.

But I say you still get to count the veggies.
