Extreme seagull steals GoPro camera in Cannes, treats us to bird's eye view {Gadling}
Jun 26th 2011 8:33AM Boring, but important: Apparently someone found the abandoned camera, watched the incriminating video and took the camera back to the scene of the crime. Or tracked its registered serial number through the manufacturer to the buyer/owner.
Startling underwater discovery at Gallipoli battlefield {Gadling}
Jun 25th 2010 10:14AM "Churchill decided it was of crucial strategic importance". The decision was a correct one, as this article seems to dismiss out of hand. The Allies were stymied by bad field leadership and preparation, extraordinarily hostile terrain and unusually good Turkish commanders.
Gallipolli may have been the most important battle of the 20th century: Success would have knocked the Turks out of the war and let the Allies reinforce Russia on the eastern front through the Black Sea. Russia stays in the fight. They share in the victory. Lenin and the Bolsheviks never come to power. Hitler remains an obscurity, robbed of his canard of Jewish perfidy. WWII, Stalin, the Cold War and all those other horrors then slip into the alternate-universe dustbin.
Famous Movie Locations: Baseball Field from 'Field of Dreams' (Dyersville, Iowa) {Moviefone Blog}
Apr 19th 2010 12:53AM In response to sonny's response: "How could you possibly make a story about a field in Iowa a political argument? You sir need some intense therapy and I suggest you get it very soon." ... I'm not the one who made a political argument out of an Iowa field. The filmmakers did. I merely point out the film's distinct political slant, a slant that should be obvious to everyone and yet weirdly is not. (Hardly a cause for therapy!)
Iowa Clears Way for Gay Marriage (Really? Iowa?) {News Campus Blog}
Apr 7th 2009 8:55AM Like I said, read Section 3. If the year ends in zero, the Assembly is powerless to stop any amendment passed by convention.
Iowa Clears Way for Gay Marriage (Really? Iowa?) {News Campus Blog}
Apr 5th 2009 4:49AM Every news organization--even FOX News--is reporting that Iowans cannot overturn their high court's outrageous usurpation. But Section 3, Article X of the Iowa Constitution states clearly that every tenth year, from 1970 onward (and at the statuatory behest of the State Assembly ANYTIME), Iowan electors may convene to amend their state's constitution. Why is everyone ignoring Section 3, Article X?
Iowa Clears Way for Gay Marriage (Really? Iowa?) {News Campus Blog}
Apr 5th 2009 4:41AM Despair not, patriots: Read Section 3, Article X of the Iowa constitution. Iowans can convene electors to reverse this insane usurpation as soon as this year--oe even NEXT MONTH. For some weird reason, all the news organizations are saying Iowans must wait helpless until 2012. It ain't so, unless I'm reading that section wrong.

AOL Straw Poll: Oct. 24-31 {Politics Daily}
Oct 28th 2008 8:18AM The AOL straw poll is hardly accurate and may be severly biased. However, I think it does reflect trends. The trend this week has been sharply towards McCain.
