Jul 22nd 2011 12:34PM For real! That used to be my place to get the beach Jones out of my system. nearest beaches to me are those murky, e coli infested new jersey beaches
Charlie Sheen Passes Home Drug Test {PopEater}
Feb 27th 2011 8:52PM Charlie just called the guy out by his Jewish name, that's what all the hubbub is really about. He blew Lorre's crypto-Jew cover and now that just reaffirms the Jewish influence in media and TV
6 Lamest Remakes of Great TV Shows {AOL TV}
Oct 23rd 2010 7:18AM Battlestar Galactica. They changed the sex of Starbuck, the most popular character of the show. They made the high moral and compassionate character of Apollo into a bratty jerk. They changed the sex and ethnicity of the original show's black male character, Boomer, and made Colonel Tigh, the other black command level character, into a white drunk. There was too much shakey camera work. The story line was changed to a Terminator redux where humans create the robotic race. I could go on and on. It was a hot mess.
Potent Quotables: Grammys Backlash {Spinner}
Jan 28th 2010 10:06PM I gave up on the grammys iin '93 when Vanessa Williams' "Save the Best for Last" didn't win in any of the categories in which it was nominated. I had already suspected for years before that that the Grammys were a fraud, but that confirmed it.
Sinbad: Comedian Files for Bankruptcy After Going Broke {BV on Money}
Dec 21st 2009 4:45PM Okay, so now it's racist whenever something pertains to blacks about blacks, but if it's a Jew or an Irish, or German descended, it's heritage or cultural. Give me a break.
'Alice in Wonderland': Even More Wonderfully Weird in Full-Length Trailer {Moviefone Blog}
Dec 16th 2009 1:37PM Lewis Carroll must be spinning in his grave. I don't understand why we need to see Alice portrayed as an adult character, when she was a child in the original works. Looks like Disney is once again profiteering from the bastardization and desecration of literary classics and taking it in a ludicrous direction. Stunning visuals does not a good or worthwhile movie make.
Teen Athlete Claims She Was Benched for Pregnancy {ParentDish}
Dec 8th 2009 11:04PM This girl thought she was "'all that," as an honor student, star athlete, musician, community volunteer, holier-than-thou "christian." I bet she and her mom were those who look down their nose at sex education.
That said, I can't blame Coach Warren for taking away her playing time and covering his ass as best as possible. The students asked him a direct question about their friend and teammate, and the honorable man only told the truth. Regarding the note: The first doctor's note with restrictions was obviously his first thoughts, so I would go by his initial decisions rather than one that was obviously coaxed out of him. The doctor probably has malpractice insurance out the wazoo, so any case against him would be covered by that. The coach doesn't, and he no doubt, along with the school, would have been called into a suit had anything happened to the baby or the girl. To all of you who talk about women doing this and that while pregnant, they key word is "women." This is a minor girl. Decisions of health and welfare are not always the minor's to make. As the irresponsible mother (notice that no father was ever discussed in this at all) ala the texas cheerleader mom, was willing to let her daughter play, probably so that she could earn a scholarship, health of the baby or the girl be damned, somebody had to do something in their best interest whether it seems like it or not.
California gives green light to space-based solar power project {Daily Finance}
Dec 5th 2009 7:19PM This is an expensive and hazardous proposition. I remember talks of this in the '70s as some have pointed out, and it never progressed much further than talks. To those who suggest that this is safe and well-researched, I recall similar claims about MTBE as a fuel additive, until it started poisoning groundwater wells. I am not against alternative energy. To the contrary, I am a big proponent of alternative energy that is readily available without the huge outlay of public money to utility corporations just so that they can turn around and charge us higher rates for this more expensively produced energy.
Old 'V' vs. New 'V' - Which One's Better, the Original or the Remake? {Inside TV Blog}
Nov 4th 2009 1:24PM The original is always better than the remake, because the original is just that: original. Any remake is always derivative by its very nature of being a remake. While special effects may improve and modern sophistication may be added, the remake would not exist but for the success of the original.
Americans Trounced by British in International Spelling Bee {Lemondrop}
Feb 9th 2009 3:49PM English words have less correlation between spelling and pronunciation than any of the western languages. The same is true of the rules of grammar, which are truly a joke. Also, there is laxity in what words are allowed to become acceptable words in American English. I am sure that if British students were to spell words in their own language versus students from another country spelling words in their own language, the British kids would lose that just as badly as we have against the Brits.
