Greed Reigns With NFL's Blackout Policy {Fanhouse - Jay Mariotti}
Sep 2nd 2009 2:48PM If you want your fans to be able to watch you on TV, put a decent product on the field so you sell out games. If you lift the blackout rule temporarily, people will whine and complain when they reinstitute it. People always want something for free.
If you really want to watch the games that badly, go to a locally owned restaurant or bar that has a satellite package and support small business owners. You could probably have 4 or 5 beers and an appetizer for about $20...which is way cheaper than an NFL ticket.
Goodell is making a good decision here. If he lifts it, they will never be able to reinstitute it without alienating fans. I can remember a time when the Bengals never had any home games on here in town because they were so awful that they couldn't fill Riverfront Stadium. Quit crying. Just be glad you have a team to root for.
Don Imus on Adam Jones: 'What Color Is He?' {Fanhouse NFL Blog}
Jun 23rd 2008 5:26PM Eventually this country will have to look at itself in the mirror and decide when enough is enough. The economy is spiraling out of control. Why? Because our government doesn't work for the majority anymore. They take money from the middle class and give it to Big Oil and people on welfare. Most white people are not racist, just like most black people aren't racist. But the middle class (of all races) watch as our government is handing money over to people who don't deserve it and we get to watch them piss it away. It is frustrating. And I think that's why people say the things they do. Eventually, all this PC BS will have to fly out the window and the majority (middle class, not race) will have to take our country back.
How Many Calories ... in Nachos? {That's Fit}
Jan 30th 2008 3:51PM Nachos are so easy to make healthier.
Sub whole grain chips for tortilla chips.
Sub ground turkey/chicken for ground beef.
Sub 2% Milk shredded cheese for regular cheese.
Pile on the veggies (jalapenos, tomatoes, lettuce, olives, onions, cilantro)
I'll be that would cut the fat by about 60%.
Nigella Lawson cutting kids out of will {ParentDish}
Jan 30th 2008 3:33PM I understand her concerns, but why not just set up a conditional trust?
For instance, the trust could be set up to reimburse her children for educational expenses when they graduate, similar to tuition reimbursement. Or, when they decide to get married, the trust could reimburse for the wedding expenses.
She could also set up a retirement account which they wouldn't have access to until a certain age. Cutting them out altogether doesn't make any sense to me. Look out Leona Helmsley!
