Jun 9th 2009 12:08PM let's get some facts straight gorilla man and franni nyc. we weren't "safe" for 8 years, 3,000 people died in the world trade center while Presdident Bush's family's best friends' son Bin Laden master minded that attack, and instead of calling his secretary of defense,vice president, joint chiefs of staff after the FIRST PLANE hit, he continued to read a goat story to a bunch of kids thus allowing Washington to be totally unguarded for the pentagon to be hit. I don't think sending thousands of soldiers to die in a country that DIDNT have weapons of mass destruction was keeping us safe either. It just killed a lot of our people and a lot of innocent men women and children and opened up wounds that shouldn't be there. Almost ALL the hijacker were Saudi. We don't seem to give a rat's ass about what the Saudi's do to their women. Bush let all the bin Ladins and Saudi Royal jet out on Sept 11/12 when no one else was flying. But he couldn't stop reading the goat story.
It amazes me that we have zoo animals that are actually brighter than some humans in this country that are writing comments on this site.

Oct 12th 2008 6:12PM I think it's time someone put Bill Ayers in context of the the "70's". First of all if he's such a criminal terrorist, why isn't he is jail??? He's not. He's a college professor. At the time, the government was using the military to spy on cilvilians (Sam Ervin, D, N. Carolina held hearings.) Soldiers were killing students holding demonstrations on campus against a senseless war (Kent State), EVERYONE hated the government and daily burnt the US flag, not because they hated America, but because they hated the government, that America had become. Which was so far to the right it was facist. Listen to the music of the 70's. It was all anti war. Give peace a chance. Bob Dylan mentions the Weathermen. (You don't need a weatherman to know the way the wind blows.)
There was also a little thing called a draft. Young sweet men were leaving high school and being dragged away against their will to go kill people in a senselses war. We lost that war. They're now making all our close and they don't give a shit about democracy. And we're all going to the beach there now.
If John McCain wins, and you're of draftable age or have a son or daughter--get ready because we're running out of bodies. That's what we as young people in college and the Bill Ayers although much further to the left than most of us, were fighting against. Richard Nixon, J. Edgar Hoover, who had a dossier on every President from John Kennedy to Lyndon Johnson and spied on Americans illegally as well. It was a time when people were willing to get arrested for what they believed in. Now it's all being taken out of context. Barack Obama was 8 years old, but he has nothing to be ashamed of by merely knowing anyone from that era, because most of us recognize the same facistic tendencies that are happening all over again.

It's seems pathological. He could have just as easily said he had a scheduling conflict and had to cancel. But to MAKE up something and say he was ON HIS WAY back to Washington when he was sitting in front of another interviewer. Who the F--k does he think he is. That's just RUDE. Tips for carrying more on a plane {Gadling}
May 22nd 2008 10:38AM As a flight attendant for a major airline, you are wrong about not having to be able to carry an extra bag on board (having a large bag for small child) If you are bringing it on board you need to be able to carry it and stow it. You cannot expect airline employees ie flight attendants to help you. The airline has cut our pay by 1/3 and since we're not suppose to lift bags if we get injured helping you, we're on our own. The airline will not pay us for an on the job injury. We are not required to help you.
Many times we would like to help you, but because of how we are treated by our company prevents us from doing that. Unless you're disabled if you can't carry it, and stow it, then you either make two trips, down a long concourse against a the flow of boarding passengers leaving your childing by himself, or you check the bag.

May 4th 2008 4:52PM I'm not arguing just the facts. Scientifically, there are two ways to change brain chemistry, medication, and trauma. The adolescent brain is particulary susceptible to alcohol and to being altered and statistically, a person who starts drinking at age 14 has a 49% chance of becoming alcohol dependent as opposed to if they start drinking at age 20, then they have a 3% chance. That's of course, if they don't have a predisposition for alcoholism to begin with--father,mother etc who is an alcohoic, in denial or otherwise. Anyone who thinks it's ok to feed a person with a developing brain alcohol, I recommend the book "Buzzed"--alcohol changes a childs brain chemistry which will affect them for the rest of their life. To think their parents are setting them up for it, is abhorrent and irresponsible. Teenage alcoholism and drug addiction is at epidemic levels.

Apr 4th 2007 10:25AM Giuliani invited the press to explore his wife by having her featured in Harper's Bazaar and by having himself and her in a completely inappropriate photo kissing on the cover of the Post. If he's going to display her, and make out with her in public, then she's a public figure and is fair game for the press. She needs to deal with it.
