Aug 18th 2010 4:28PM Yoga means "yoke" "union" and "pathway to God". It is an intricate part of the HINDU religion. The asanas are used to worship and honor their multiple gods.
It is not possible to participate in yoga without also giving honor to the gods of the Hindus. You cannot separate the yoga "positions, asanas" from the Hindu religion.
Those who believe in the Christian God JEHOVAH should consider what they are really doing when they assume these positions which are used for idol worship.
Hindu practices should have no place in the life of a Christian.
We should of course treat the Indian Hindus with kindness and respect. I have had several Hindu friends who are wonderful, loving people. But, we must be faithful to the God that we serve and separate ourselves from the foreign practices that dishonor the God that we serve.
