Atheist Patrick Greene, Who Threatened to Sue Over Courthouse Nativity Scene, Sparks New Controversy {AOL Real Estate}
Nov 26th 2012 11:36AM Personally, I think Mr. and Mrs. Greene's gift and expressions of good will should be gracefully accepted, since the major religions all require, in their tenets, that good will does, in fact, run two ways. Of course, like my grandaddy used to say, 'Millions of people go to church every Sunday, and some of those folks are Christians.' I think that the individual reception of Mr. and Mrs. Greene's gift and well wishing pretty much tells everyone the ones who are practicing, as compared to professing Christians. As a Christian to an atheist of good will, thank you.
Mortgage Fraud Scheme Targets Treasury Secretary {AOL Real Estate}
Aug 19th 2011 6:30PM Well, if we put all of the DC grifters, grafters, liars, thieves and perverts in prison, all of our prisons would have to be 50 stories tall - -still, even one is a plus, huh?
Are We Headed for a Double-Dip Recession? {AOL Small Business}
Jun 23rd 2011 5:06PM 'Improvement'? Well, I guess; the guy down the street, (a master machinist whose company physically moved the factory, machines, and everything but it's people to Mexico and then China), couldn't find work in his craft for years, but finally landed a job as night clerk at a convenience store, so he's officially off the rolls - - hang on, Louise is saying something - - what's that? Oh. I hadn't heard. Well, it seems he was gunned down in a stickup last week, which is bad news, the good news is that he's still officially off the unemployment rolls. It's an ill wind, huh?

Michigan May Allow Under-10 Crowd to Go Hunting {ParentDish}
May 27th 2011 4:16PM Yeah, I grew up in Michigan. By the time I was 8 I was a crack shot with a .22 and putting meat on the table, hunting with my dad and grandad; I bought my own rifle when I was 10, a Stevens Model 514A single shot .22. It cost $17 and change, money I saved up from doing chores for the neighbours, birthday and Christmas money - - guys my age know the drill. At that time a license for solo hunting was offered for 12 year olds, under 12 didn't need one, but we were hunting in company of adults. In the fall we'd bring our weapons to school (action open, of course) and stow them in our lockers, then bicycle off to hunt squirrels and such after school. Most of our men teachers were WW II vets, and seemed to enjoy looking over our rifles or single shot .410s, and would sometimes pass on tips about how to not be spotted by the animals. I learned, at an early age, a respect for life, a regret at the taking of it, and a certain - - um - - thankfulness is wrong, but an appreciation for the animal's having sacrificed its life to provide food for our home. I've never hunted for 'sport'; not condemning sport hunters, I just don't understand killing game if it's not for the table in time of need. Personally, I think it's a good thing for youngsters to learn how to provide for those who are nearest them, expecially in hard times.
'Bachelor' Brad and Emily: It's Over Already? {PopEater}
Mar 16th 2011 8:26AM I'm not sure where anybody gets the idea that somebody stringing somebody else along is good television - - it's certainly not anything I'd want my son or daughter to do. That behaviour is a continuous lie, and it's wrong.
How the Post Office Can Make Money and Survive {WalletPop}
Jan 14th 2011 4:55PM The USPS cannot be salvaged; I would suggest that USPS be seperated from Department of Defense, of which the USPO has been a wholly owned subsidiary since 1956, and restore the Post Office to the purview of the United States Postmaster, and send the PM General back to his lawful military post as supervisor of the military mail. USPS, as a so-called 'public-private partnership' must be expected to make some people rich, whereas the Post Office was required by law to be revenue neutral. Postal Savings? Yeah? What about it? We used to have Postal Savings with various denominations of stamps that were pasted into a Postal Savings Book, and could be redeemed for US savings bonds or cash at the Post Office. Congress ended the Postal Savings program, allowed a specific amount of time for redemption of the outstanding stamps, then stole the money that was left over, just as it did with the Silver Certificate US Treasury currency. What did that leave us with? Private scrip and base metal tokens that are worthless. The Royal Mail belongs to the Queen, and her prosecutors will hunt down and imprison anyone who steals from the Royal Mail, either letters or money - - our system has the thief apologize, maybe, for having made a mistake, after which the crooked SOB goes right back to work and steals more. Additionally, our government has proven over, and over, and over, and over again that it is incapable of routing a one truck convoy, nor keeping its sticky mitts off of even a single cent that isn't welded to a railway locomotive or something equally non portable. USPS cannot be saved, give it up and put the Post Office in charge of private contractors closely monitored by auditors.
Big Offers Await Bristol Palin Following 'Dancing' Finale, Sources Say {PopEater}
Nov 23rd 2010 1:09PM DWTS has been a big adventure for Bristol, and she's worked very hard; I don't think that her fan base is Tea Party based, although I'm sure that a lot of Tea Pary folks watch the show, as do people who have no interest whatever in who's stealing the country out from under us. I do think, though, that Bristol would probably be better off if she went back to Alaska and put the things she's learned about outside people to good use in whatever she choses to do. Good luck, Bristol, it's about time you got a break!
