Disgraced Icon Roger Clemens Down to Last Strike {Fanhouse - Kevin Blackistone}

Seriously who cares about this. Does our government have nothing better to deal with. Also where is the actual proof that Clemens actually took steriouds, except for the hear say mumbo jumbo.Exactly, and this testimony from a doctor/trainer, who probably cut a deal, since the last trainer did 1 year in prison for the same thing.......

Is this testimony credible, and if so, was it adminstered while roger was rehabing from an injury....... and again, it is under a doctors care, so I believe it is legal, and players do rehab, and under a docotrs care, they take steroids........ that is what steroids are for!!!!!!!........ it is just the abuse of steroids is the problem, and if this doctor abused them, then it is the doctors/trainers arse in a ringer......Even the Jury instructions on FEDERAL CONSPIRACY CHARGES make sure, that the JURY is informed of witnesses who testify in order to get immunity.

JURY INSTRUCTIONS CONSPIRACY 7.07 TESTIMONY OF A WITNESS UNDER GRANT OF IMMUNITY OR REDUCED CRIMINAL LIABILITY
(2) It is permissible for the government to make such a promise. But you should consider _______'s testimony with more caution than the testimony of other witnesses. Consider whether his testimony may have been influenced by the government's promise.(3) Do not convict the defendant based on the unsupported testimony of such a witness, standing alone, unless you believe his testimony beyond a reasonable doubt.--------------and it is backed up by case law too............

He's being indicated of Perjury...for lying to a Congressional committee. That's a crime. Whether Congress should be sticking it's nose into baseball's matter of ethics and honesty is, admittedly, questionable, but obviously baseball is unable to govern itself on this issue, so I guess Congress thought it would step in. He messed up when he thought that Congress would be so overwhelmed by his celebrity that they would automatically believe him. By the way, wasn't he the one that was implicating all the other athletes of "doping"?

His lawyer should be shotHis advice has been detramental to Clemens............. there is protection from legal malpractice, but not many lawyers will go there.

Good thing is this, the transcript.If the question asked to Roger was, did you ever use steroids ILLEGALLY, and Roger answered NO...........Then the trainer said he administered Roger with steroids. well that is steroids under a medical doctors supervision, and my opinion is, that is NOT illegal.... that is what DOCTORS are for.and steroids are used in rehabing players after surgeries/injuries in alot of cases.....But, the transcript is important, and how the question was asked, because Roger may have taken steroids, after an injury, and he didn't really understand what they were.

No one gets to obstruct justice. He was given an option that no one other than an athletic superstar would have been offered and he blew it off. I'm not sad that he's getting hammered. He should have to pay back his MLB salary during his "abuse" times. His records should be expunged. There has to be a disincentive for others to use PED's PED's are an upcoming industry, just look at the pop ups on your computer. From what I understand they are NOT using MEDICAL STEROIDS, which are a medicine and need a medical doctors prescription to be legal.......
ALOT of athletes after an injury/during rehab use medical steroids to heal, that is the medical purpose of steroids.I truely believe that if a trainer was giving a player steroids, it is all on the trainer, who is a medical doctor, and has the RIGHT to prescribe medicine to a player, be it opiates for injuries or whatever.I also believe that if Roger Clemmens was given steroids by his trainer, then it was LEGAL for Roger to do so, because it was under a doctors [prescription (his trainer), and he may have even NON-KNOWINGLY taken steroids after an injury, during rehab, which most all players do.....
I think some said "not knowingly" because maybe their trainer told them, you need this shot, and this shot and then one of these also.....Some Pro Athletes play under ALOT of PAIN --- I'VE SEEN IT.... immense pain, with immense medications, especialy during the playoffs, then they have the surgery after the finals/world series "whatever", then they do their rehab. BUT, those medications are prescribed by the "trainer" who is, or should be a medical doctor.If Roger Clemens was adminstered steroids by the trainer, then it was under a Doctors prescription, doctor supervision, and it's the team doctors, so what more do you want.

THESE PHONIES WHO TOOK STEROIDS SHOULD NEVER BE ALLOWED IN THE HALL OF FAME. THEIR RECORDS SHOULD BE REMOVED FOREVER( EXPUNGED) FROM ANY STATISTICS. IT IS AN INSULT TO ANY BALLPLAYERS WHO PLAYED BEFORE THEM AND WERE CLEAN OF DRUGS DURING THEIR CAREER. EXAMPLE: BOB FELLER,WILLIE MAYS ETC:I agree to some point, no HALL OF FAME, at least while they are still alive, just have a blank era of steroid use...... even though some say their are other products that pass all the test nowdays, this was a real bad era, of real bad judgement, and owners, trainers, media people, and MLB itself just winked and nodded it off until the charges startyed coming up in the media, then the media cut and run against it.But if you Feds really want to show some respect for the law, then stop hacking into my computer, I do good work, and Roger may be an innocent man, he may be telling the truth, did you ever think about that?

The only proof that Clemens lied to anyone is the word of two people who had something to gain from pointing a finger at other players. There is no tangible evidence, test results or pictures to proven his guilt or innocence, so who knows. He could be the biggest scumbag in the world or the best human alive, but he is still innocent UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY IN A COURT OF LAW, NOT IN FRONT OF CONGRESS. Some may say that all he had to do was admit to the charges or plead the fifth, usually taken as an admission of guilt. That might have kept him out of jail, but what about his reputation. Nothing in the world could repair the damage either of those actions would do. Congress spends too much time on usless investigations and committee hearings and not enough time trying to straighten out the country's problems. Let baseball worry about its own problems.

Some real good points there.......... I'm going to look up the code and section number about people who testify for a plea bargain, and THOSE PEOPLE, I believe are the people that the PERJURY laws were intended for.... those who testify AGAINST OTHERS, and defame their character, and possibly get them convicted of a crime they never did.
let me add, the code and section number for the law is aimed at witnesses that testify for a bargain, and that their testimony SHOULD be challenged, by LAW, more stringently, because they have a SELF-SERVING purpose in testifying.
