Blackface Jackson Skit Stuns Connick Jr.; Others Call Him a Hypocrite {PopEater}

Oct 8th 2009 1:27PM That's right... I forgot that 13 years isn't long enough for someone to change their mind or their view on something. If you think he's a hypocrite, you are an idiot. Period.

Thomas Jefferson Did Not Father Sally Hemings' Children, Author Claims in New Book {BV on Books}

Jun 22nd 2009 4:47PM African men sold their own kind into slavery as well. Therefore, Blacks contributed to the slavery of other Blacks. It's sad that you don't know that, when you're writing a novel about things you think you do know.

Disney Princesses Pose as Cover Girls {ParentDish}

Apr 29th 2009 2:39PM Bethany Sanders: Do you make sure you tell your children they are beautiful no matter what? You should have no fears of what these products are doing to your children, IF you're doing your job. That job is not shielding them from everything that makes you feel insecure, but assuring them that Ariel is not real, and that they are amazing and beautiful no matter what they see or hear. Period.

Apr 29th 2009 2:31PM Marie: I agree with every single statement you made. I am glad there are people out there with common sense.

Disney Princesses Pose as Cover Girls {ParentDish}

Apr 29th 2009 12:09PM If your daughters are acting this way, and will react to the magazines the way you fear they will, it's not Disney's fault. It's YOURS. If you think your daughters, or children for that matter, are perfect now, make sure they know that too. It's your responsibility to teach them that Ariel's waist is as impossible for them to have as are her fins. Stop blaming media, companies, and other people for your parental shortcomings, and step up to the plate. Have a better hand in how you raise your own children.

Burger King Ad Inappropriate for Kids? {ParentDish}

Apr 10th 2009 2:01PM Thank you, I'm not stupid. =) I know the song - and well. I also know the multiple definitions of "booty." When I said it had nothing to do with booty shaking, I meant the fact that the ad was bad had nothing to do with booty shaking. The song, yes. But "booty" is not a sexual word. AND - they changed the lyrics to fit the ad. I don't like the ad either, and I don't think it's sending a great message to kids. BUT, I don't think it's sending a horrific sexual message either.

Burger King Ad Inappropriate for Kids? {ParentDish}

Apr 9th 2009 1:30PM It's not that big a deal. And no, I don't condone kids shaking their rumps like it's a sexy thing to do. But I have heard somewhere that ALL KIDS have butts. And shaking your butt is not necessarily something sexual. You people put so much sexual emphasis on EVERYTHING, that nothing is okay anymore. It's so sad. The ad is terrible in its own right, but it has nothing to do with the "booty shaking." It's just a bad commercial in general. But still, it's no big deal.
