Oct 29th 2012 11:51AM My favorite was Antonia Lofaso from Top Chef Chicago and All-Stars.
Apr 13th 2011 2:22PM On an ironic note, outside of Saudi Arabia, even members of the House of Saud do not abide by the dress codes. One of the princes came to stay at my hotel along with his entourage of 40, including his wife. I expected very modest women with all sorts of covering. I was quite surprised when they showed up dressed like a Kardashian. Skinny jeans, halter tops, and hair flowing in the wind.
Mar 15th 2011 2:29PM Marcel was a love to hate character on Top Chef, so it will be great to see him not competing against the other chefs and instead with himself. I love the molecular gastronomy aspect and it's already a Seasons Pass on my Tivo!
Feb 9th 2011 11:58AM I live in the San Francisco Bay Area & the coldest I had to deal with is in the low 30's. But wait! Before you call me crazy & a whiner, I just moved back in to the mainland from Hawaii, where I spent 8 years. My hands & feet have been perpetually cold since moving back. It's at least a 30 degree difference from what I'm used to and this past year has had the lowest temps in a long time. The weather is kicking my butt!
Nov 15th 2010 3:46PM Going caving after a fresh snowfall.
Oct 20th 2010 11:59AM I am a Groupon-a-holic! I have purchased all sorts of Groupons, from massages, facials & mani/pedis to restaurants and private tours. I love me some Groupon!
Oct 5th 2010 5:59PM I want that! Would use on my next camping adventure. Could have used it on my last, went to Crater Lake totally unprepared for below 32 degrees at night in early September...bbbbrrrrrrr!
Aug 16th 2010 7:32PM I used to live in Maui County & totally agree with Mama's Fish House. They have amazing fresh food, interesting preparation styles and fantastic service. Literally some of the best meals I have ever eaten
But another restaurant that should be up there is Hali'iMaile General Store. It's got great upcountry fare, it's off the beaten path & I could walk there from my friend's house!
Also, Flatbread Pizza in Pa'ia is delish.
Jul 7th 2010 12:28PM My best meal ever? Not the most fancy or avant garde, but just simple, fresh ingredients at a little restaurant in Riomaggiore, Italy March 2006
My dinner comprised fresh fried calamari, caught that same day served with fresh lemon. Pesto Lasagna with toasted pine nuts. A small carafe of house white wine. Dessert of cappuccino with the best Tiramisu ever. A steal at 32 euro!
It was the most expensive meal I had on that trip & I can still taste the amazing flavors!
