Dec 10th 2009 2:24PM While I agree that this lawsuit is indeed ridiculous, there is one aspect about this situation that has ALWAYS bothered me.
Under no circumstances should a consumer be charged for a "transaction" (incoming text or call) over which they have no control. Can you imagine the concept of being charged on your land line for an incoming call? That's why they are called "Collect Calls" and you are required to approve them before you are charged.
Wireless providers should not be allowed to charge any consumer for these types of transactions. Period.

This young man ABSOLUTELY deserved to lose any scholarship he may have had. And to those who say he has a "first amendment right" to say what he want; yes, he sure does. And the University of Texas, hardly a bastion of liberal thought by the way, has a "right" to take away his scholarship and kick him off the squad. It's ALWAYS a sad day when people actually defend someone who threatens murder because of the color of someone's skin.

Apr 8th 2008 4:31PM Hey - I once attended a white trash/cholo union. It was proceeding swimmingly until a rather large biker commented, while waiting in line for the self-serve keg of Brown Derby Beer loud enough for all to hear: "who invited all these (insert derogatory Hispanic term here) to the wedding. The ensuing brawl (which was caught on a stationary VCR - one of THE funniest things I've ever witnessed on tape - table settings, chairs, people all flying across the screen) was something to behold. Two older Hispanic women in attendance used the opportunity to re-ignite some age-old feud that they had with one another and just beat the crap out of each other. The large biker who made the original comment was handling himself well until he unknowingly (I think) struck a police officer (this was prior to tasers by the way). Suffice it to say, if you ask him today if he would have preferred to have been tasered or receive the ultimate beat-down administered by the police, I'm guessing he'd rather have be tazed!

Apr 8th 2008 4:17PM As long as idiots are out there; approaching police in a threatening manner, then the use of tasers is fine by me. The taser is there for the safety of the police officers first, then the offender. For those that cite deaths; while that's unfortunate, it is a rare occurance and frankly, if the person had responded in a proper way when dealing with the police, then they would have avoided the taser.

It must be your ignorants that is holding you down? Perhaps your IGNORANCE is not allowing you to see reality beyond your own little world.
To sit there and make a comment like "The fact is, everybody I know is doing pretty good. Everyone I know that wants a job, has a job... I have never quite seen things so good." and them blame ignorance (albeit spelled incorrectly) for the reason that others may not be doing as well as you is arrogant at best and simple-minded at worst.
This country doesn't exist to meet YOUR personal needs. Unless you are willing to admit that things need improvement and that you need to be part of that improvement, you are much more ignorant than those at whom you seem to like pointing fingers. I don't think that either party does a particulary good job of running our country, but at least I have enough common sense not to blindly follow a party because I happen to be doing well while they are in office.
