AT&T states more MMS details for Friday {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 24th 2009 9:51AM How do carrier setting updates work if you have jailbroken your iPhone 3GS and are still running OS 3.0 due to having the tethering hack in place... anyone know?

AT&T rolling out MMS to iPhone on September 25, tethering 'in the future' {Engadget}

Sep 3rd 2009 2:34PM Does that mean I can dispute my contract and get out of it without penalty because I purchased my iPhone 3GS under the mistaken impression that MMS would be available by the end of summer and September 25th is not summer?

2GB Eye-Fi Geo exclusive to Apple retail {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 29th 2009 10:51AM This is pretty much useless for real geotagging if it relies on geotagging based on wifi access point location. It obviously doesn't do real gps based geotagging.

Dispatch from Playa del Carmen (Slogan: It's like Cancún except slightly more tolerable!) {Gadling}

Jun 20th 2009 10:59AM I just got back from Mexico on Wednesday.

The Amazing Race was in Playa del Carmen on Tuesday filming for the upcoming season. Unfortunately it was raining that day and I didn't want to deal with catching a cab (I was staying south of Playa) to try and crash their dinner that evening at the Blue Parrot in Playa.

If you are still in Mexico and are headed south, checkout AKUMAL. It is absolutely beautiful. Amazing beach. Not touristy. Laid back. Didn't I mention it has an amazing beach? And oh yea, if that wasn't enough you can snorkle with sea turtles just be wading into the water at Akumal Bay.

Akumal is located in between Puerto Aventura and Xel-Ha. I highly recommend it.

Here are some pics and videos we took while visiting Akumal last week:

Lonely Planet San Francisco City Guide for iPhone free for a limited time {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jun 2nd 2009 1:02PM I'm a big travel addict and own a bunch of travel guides.

I'll try out the free SF guide, but I have reservations about spending $15.99 on an iPhone based guidebook when I can get the real deal for not much more than that.

I'd say $9.99 is a better price point.

You can pickup the actual printed version of the Lonely Planet San Francisco guide book for a mere $12 so why in the hell would I pay $15.99 for the iPhone version?

LP needs to get their pricing more in line with reality.

Discovery kicking off continent-by-continent followup to Planet Earth with Wild Planet: North America {Engadget HD}

May 13th 2009 3:31PM I'm still baffled by what happened with Discovery Atlas. The first season was great, but then it basically fell off the face of the earth and took some digging just to see some of the episodes from season 2. The quality of show to show was inconsistent because of the different people involved in producing each one. But overall Discovery Atlas had a lot of potential... they really dropped the ball on that one.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH1 goes up for pre-order, for $1,499 {Engadget}

May 5th 2009 3:56PM I was looking forward to the release of the GH1 and was planning on purchasing one.

But for that price I can get a new DSLR AND a standalone Canon HD camcorder.

Bummer.

Timex Expedition WS4 hands-on {Engadget}

Feb 4th 2009 8:06PM Why not just strap a Netbook to your wrist?

It will do more AND it's probably smaller than then monstrosity.

Product review - Epson Artisan 700 all-in-one inkjet printer {Gadling}

Dec 29th 2008 4:29PM Nice review, but why is this on Gadling? I think you have this blog confused with Engadget. Printers aren't very travel friendly, especially big all-in-one inket printers. Maybe a review of a pocket sized or portable printer would be more appropriate.

Walmart to test iPhone sales with employees starting today {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Dec 17th 2008 4:19PM Wow, you mean Wal-Mart employees get to enter their name in a raffle to possibly purchase an iPhone from their employer?

Can't they just go to their local AT&T, Apple Store or order one from AT&T's web site?

As pilot programs go, this is pretty damn stupid.
