Traveler to be caned for overstaying visa in Singapore {Gadling}
Oct 26th 2010 11:43PM The same guy is also being charged with fraud in Singapore. From the Straits Times, a local newspaper.
In March, Charlton - who was then in Singapore - had made calls from his mobile phone to a Mr Mirko Prskalo in Australia.
He allegedly duped the 74-year-old into believing that his nephew and family were in urgent need of funds in Singapore.
He is alleged to have induced Mr Prskalo to remit a total of A$17,145 (S$21,800) on four occasions via Western Union, a financial services company.
Luanda, Angola: The world's most expensive city for expats {Gadling}
Jul 8th 2010 11:44AM Strange there is no mention of Singapore. If your a family of 4 and want a moderately sized house you are easily looking at 10k $USD a month for something very basic, $15k - $20k a month is very common, then if you want two cars, which is common for most expats back home, the car tax is basically 100% the price of a car, it can really add up!
Midsommar: The very best time to visit Stockholm {Gadling}
Jun 18th 2010 1:31AM Actually Stockholm is the worst place to be during the actual Midsommar day. I was there for it 3 years ago, the city is a ghost town, as all the locals go to islands for celebrations.
Only beer you could buy for the entire weekend was 3% stuff from 7-11. As the alcohol shops are closed. There is still fun to be had at some of the pubs/bars, but it was not the huge party atmosphere in Stockholm like I was hoping.
5am when the sky is still bright, drunk Swedes seem to like to start fights, I witnessed at least 10 that night, good times! :)

Increase the Zoom on Google Maps {Gadling}
Mar 7th 2007 9:41PM Hmm I tried this in a few locations, one being the beach in Fort Lauderdale, and changed the zoom to 20, and got camels as well.. A prank perhaps?
