If you're all knocked out about the students categorizing this particular President and Vice President on the list of all time worst people: how come you're not equally as outraged at the horrific things these two individuals did whilst in office? Nobody wants to admit the elephant in the room-- but this OBVIOUSLY came from a poll of the students; there is no other reason for it to appear here. So if their parents are outraged, perhaps they should have an honest discussion with their children as to why they feel this way. The PARENTS might learn a little something!
Personally, I for the most part AGREE with the list. Bush II and Cheney caused more damage to America's international reputation, it's financial well-being, and the status of individual liberties and dignity then most people will ever know. If at some point we look back a the beginning of the fall of the "American Era" (as ultimately ALL empires eventually fall), we would be well served to look at the administrations of these two failed "rulers" for the starting point. It's really quite interesting that these students were able to recognize this while still so young-- while their "adult" parents insist on burying their heads in the sand. Hopefully, this bodes well for the upcoming generation, who perhaps can help to fix the current lack of civility and empathy that has infected American government.

The Word 'Retard': Stop Using It {ParentDish}
Mar 6th 2011 10:59PM Quick note for the thought police: "Retard" comes from the Italian "ritardando", which literally means "slow down". (Very commonly used in musical notation for performance.) If calling something that is slow "slow", then you are too damned sensative. Unlike the "n-word", which originated as a slur against a particular people in its first usage, "retard" was APPROPRIATED by the disabled community; it was even used in medical terminology.
This difference is a primary delineator in determining "acceptable usage" or not. (For example: "gay", an appropriated term, is generally considered acceptable by both sides of the descriptor. "Faggot", on the other hand, was used in referring to a segment of the population specifically as an insult, and therefore is NOT generally acceptable.
