Feb 4th 2011 9:30PM Would she wear a burka at Tulane? Even in the heat and humidity of NOLA? I think not. What do they teach at Tulane? Silliness 101? The young woman is beyond naive. If she truly believed in the cause, she should have stayed there.
How the Post Office Can Make Money and Survive {WalletPop}
Jan 14th 2011 2:45PM No Linda: The individual retirees should get a reasonable pension. Just retire the USPS without any pension. Take it out of its misery. Let the private companies do it. They are more reliable. The USPS has become very unreliable in my area, and we don't want or need them anymore.
How the Post Office Can Make Money and Survive {WalletPop}
Jan 14th 2011 2:40PM The USPS has become very unreliable in my area. Our "assigned" letter carrier is also president of the local union, so he rarely delivers anymore, and we get a different carrier each day with the wrong mail, while our mail is going to others.
Generally, I don't require any assistance from any level government, other than snow removal and street repair, so expanding USPS services won't do it for me. The private banks are far more efficient than the USPS around here will ever be.
I suggest that the federal government dissolve the USPS as it currently exists and allow private companies such as UPS and FedEx to compete for the rest of the delivery business. We use those companies now for anything important, and it would mean an end to junk mail.
Home for the Holidays...Not This Year {Shelterpop}
Dec 24th 2010 12:32AM ras: So far, your comment is the only one that makes sense to me. I lost both of my parents, but they knew that I loved them and was there for them especially in their most critical time of need, just as they were there for me. What does a crazy, excessively commercialized holiday have to do with any of that? These comments against the author actually frighten me. Many of the comments are from people who lost their parents, as I have lost mine, but what does that have to do with the author or her unique and special relationship with her family? They read a piece and only see themselves and their own personal situation. I feel sorry for them. Did they really care about their parents or about themslves?

The Tragedies and Triumphs of Actress Patricia Neal {PopEater}
Aug 10th 2010 1:02AM To me, this woman, Patricia Neal, is an inspiration. Despite so many personal tragedies and setbacks, she succeeded again and again in her profession. I was surprised that she hated Fountainhead, but I think that had to do with her emotional involvement with Cooper. Everything this woman touched turned to gold. Klaatu Barada Nickto. Forever!
