Latest Round-Up of Obama Poll Ratings by State {Politics Daily}

Oct 18th 2009 5:31PM "While the anti-BO states are doing fine." Anti-BO states like SC with 11.5% unemployment, Kentucky with 11.1%, and Tennessee with 10.8%? Or do you mean states like Nevada with 13.2% of the population unemployed and the highest number of foreclosures?

Hot Seat - Bush's Wars {Politics Daily}

Oct 18th 2009 5:13PM George W. Bush lied and fabricated evidence to start an illegal war against a people who had no WMD, weren't part of 9/11 and hated Al Qaeda. A million innocent people died in the Iraqi holocaust.

Bush is no better than Hitler. He's just a baby killing scumbag.

Latest Round-Up of Obama Poll Ratings by State {Politics Daily}

Oct 18th 2009 4:57PM scjawsc, where exactly is all this socialism? The US is just about the only nation that doesn't require paid maternity leave. In most of Europe / Asia you get at least 3 months. Europeans I know are shocked beyond words when they see a large jar filled with coins in a convience store with a photo of a 6 year old girl that says "Please help, my daughter has leukemia." They say "The government can't just let her die!!" And I say "Oh, yes, they can and they will!" A friend of mine was just fired for telling his boss he wanted to take 3 days off to be with his wife in the hospital. Furthermore, Obama didn't spend the money on social programs, he spent it preventing us from going into a depression! The same exact way that Bush was just before he left office!

Dr. Boyce Money: Fox News, Glenn Beck Lose Advertisers {BV on Money}

Aug 30th 2009 10:47PM Of course you can get a passport with that birth certificate, it is a 100% legally valid, signed and sealed state birth certificate.

I used a similar one to get my passport, to get my marriage certificate, to get foreign visas, etc. Furthermore, no employer in America would say that birth certificate isn't good enough.

Dr. Boyce Money: Fox News, Glenn Beck Lose Advertisers {BV on Money}

Aug 30th 2009 9:55PM Blackbear, I looked at Glen Beck's "reasonable questions" as you asked me to. Here is one "We are in so much debt, why spend more borrowed money on cap-and-trade and healthcare programs before we stop the flow of red-ink?"

If you don’t mind, I answer this with my own questions to you: A 6 year old boy whose father was laid off from work, or works as an unskilled laborer, gets Leukemia. In Italy, Japan, Denmark, England, Israel, etc. that boy will get medical treatment.

In the United States the boy will most likely not get treatment and will die.

Should a 6 year old boy lose his chance at life and his parents have to watch their child die just because that boy is an American citizen? Are Italian, Japanese and British boys worth more?

As for cap-and-trade. Global warming is 100% real, there is no scientific debate over this. The end result is likely to cause the starvation of hundreds of millions, and significantly reduce the ability of the Earth to sustain human life. Does that sound like something we ought to put on hold? It is the largest threat the human race has ever faced.

Billionaire George Soros Gives $200 to Each Poor New York Student {BV on Money}

Aug 16th 2009 9:23AM Joe Biden is worth a few hundred thousand, mostly the value of his house. He quite clearly isn't in it for the money.

Carry-on size may be policed by airport security {WalletPop}

Jun 24th 2009 7:07AM We travel once a year to Asia to visit my wife's family and friends. When we take SQ21 we are in the plane for 19 hours! When we take CX831 we are in the plane for over 16 hours.

On flights like that with two small children we need to bring many diapers, a lot of formula, extra bottles, changes of clothes (for them and us), etc. The TSA and the airlines always let us board with a boatload of stuff because they know with small children on a flight that long there isn't any other option.

Flying is miserable enough right now. Every airline is losing lots of cash and Jet A isn't getting any cheaper. Why make it even more miserable?

Three years ago I flew from Boston to Pittsburgh over a dozen times. Then I tried making the 9 hour drive and discovered that I was not being told I can't go to the bathroom, that my cell phone will blow up the vehicle (it won't!!), that I can't bring a Dunkin' Donuts coffee on board, that I have to take out my notebook computer (as if that does anything), take off my shoes, take off my belt, pay an extra fee for the luggage, pay a $100 change fee to leave a flight later, etc.

It turned out driving down the highway, with the radio on, a coffee at hand, and nobody's elbow competing for the same space as mine was far more pleasant. I haven't flown to Pittsburgh since!

Obama & Health Care: Is Insurance a Right or Privilege? {Black Voices Insurance}

Jun 11th 2009 4:26PM mbk, I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about. If you show up at a hospital emergency room you will be treated for an emergency condition regardless of whether you are American or not, or whether you can afford it or not.

There is no policy at any hospital to offer this care to non-citizens but not citizens. Afterwards, if you have assets but cannot pay your bill the hospital will go after your assets. More than half the bankruptcies in this country are from medical bills.

As far as illegal immigrants go, let's also remember that they pay a lot of social security tax that they will never collect on, which allows the government to pay you your social security!

They also do jobs we don't want or won't do. I knew a woman who was an illegal alien who spent years taking care of an elderly women because her family couldn't. Every day she bathed her, brought her to parks, stores, doctor's appointments, etc. Does that sound like the kind of person who is ruining America?

Other illegals pick produce in California so our farmers, and their suppliers (like John Deere) don't go bankrupt. If they weren't here all our produce would come from Mexico, Chile, etc.

Obama & Health Care: Is Insurance a Right or Privilege? {Black Voices Insurance}

Jun 11th 2009 4:08PM When my friends from Europe come here and I explain to them that if you lose your job, then lost your health insurance (because you can't afford the COBRA) and then if your 6 year old daughter develops Leukemia or a brain tumor she's going to not get treatment and die they never ever believe me.

Of course, this doesn't and wouldn't happen in any other first world nation. But... When I show them the giant glass jar in the convenient store with a picture on the front, and filled with $80 in change in the hopes of raising a thousand times more, they stare in disbelief.

We shouldn't be the only first world nation like this. And we shouldn't use meaningless statistics like "could cost $1.5 Trillion over 10 years." Everything ought to be expressed in yearly per-capita terms. If you discovered the Obama's play was costing your family much less than 1 cent, the expensive meatballs cost you much less than 1 cent, but the war in Iraq was costing your family thousands of dollars, you might have some perspective.

Big trouble in Hong Kong: Disney all but abandons Hong Kong Disneyland {WalletPop}

Mar 19th 2009 6:21AM I've heard all the stories about mainland Chinese urinating in the park, etc. I brought my family to HK Disney for a week and didn't see a single rude act by any guest.

The Disneyland hotel was beautiful, almost exactly the same as the Grand Floridian.

The reason the park is failing is because over the extremely strong and repeated objections of the HK government and Chinese government Disney built it way too small. The rides are geared towards younger children and there aren't enough for 8+ year olds. There is no Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain, etc.

Now the problem is that the word is out all over Asia that the park isn't worth going to. I'd be very sad if they abandoned it. I'd rather see them fix it. Put in the giant Pirate land they've been planning for years, build the second gate, make it a park worth going to.

Sadly, Disney never had their heart in Hong Kong. And with a giant sized Universal Studios going into Singapore, they would need to to make HK Disney survive.
