'The Hop' Takes Suitcases Hands-Free {Gadling}

Oct 2nd 2012 6:14PM Interesting concept but this demo video is shown under ideal conditions of a slow leisurely walking pace, having a nice, smooth, flat floor, and no bustling crowds. Even under these ideal circumstances, you can see the case on the verge of tipping over several times. It wouldn't get ten feet in an airport without tipping over from a bump or someone knocking into it.

I actually think this technology would be much better used on grocery shopping carts, where the floors are always flat and nothing is going to tip. With the cart following you, you can gather things from shelves with both hands, and always know which cart is yours, and if you leave your cart behind, you get the vibration that says go get it.

'Gas Station' Mansion in Lake Success, N.Y., Called the Ugliest in America, Hits Market for $5.88 Million {AOL Real Estate}

Sep 4th 2012 6:23PM What always baffled me about these places is, who has time to actually use all the rooms in them enough to justify the cost of ownership? I hear stories all the times of these oversized "celebrity homes", but do the celebrity owners host huge parties all the time? The only one who seems to do so with any consistency is Hugh Hefner.

'Project X' Copycat Revelers Allegedly Wreck $500,000 Home {AOL Real Estate}

Mar 15th 2012 5:58PM Seems it's getting harder and harder for society to be able to tell the difference between reality and TV these days.

Tennessee Home Burns as Firefighters Watch {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 7th 2011 11:00AM Why not just put the fire out, then bill the homeowner for the fee plus whatever interest and expenses incurred?

Homeownership: From American Dream to Nightmare? {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 9th 2011 2:30PM Think buying/owning a home is a pain? Try buying your own piece of land sometime. The initial costs are horrendous...appraisals, surveys, property line assessments, feasibility assessments, environmental assessments, loan applications, cost assessments for utilities, architectural planning, development plans. Already comes to thousands of dollars and still doesn't guarantee you'll get the property...the process can crash any time.

Vacant House Yields Late Owner's Stash of Cash {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 9th 2011 10:44AM No matter what the circumstances, it is NEVER right to take something that doesn't belong to you. Yesterday I was moving offices and found a $100 gas card left behind by the previous occupant (in an otherwise completely empty cubicle), who had moved to another building in a different city. I mailed it back. A month ago I ran into a sweet friendly cat on the street that I would have loved to take home...but it was obvious someone was caring for him because he was very clean and soft, even though he didn't have a collar on, and I'm sure taking him would have broken someone's heart.

For those who said they would have kept the cash, just think of how you would feel if you lost $20K, or something worth $20K, somehow...wouldn't you want someone to return it? That's a whole years salary for a lot of people.

It's appalling in these cases that nobody ever thinks of the victim...until they become one.

6 Worst Coffee Drinks from 'Eat This, Not That' {Slashfood}

Jan 26th 2011 12:12AM Every time this guy writes an article someone always says "I'll eat what I like shut up."

Really people...nobody's forcing you to eat or drink the bad stuff, they are only suggestions, and actually mostly fairly good ones for people who want to cut down without going on a really strict diet.

Jan 18th 2011 1:55PM It may not be an "official" band number, but "Canon Rock" by the mysterious Jerry C from youtube certainly deserves an honorable mention here!
