Sep 29th 2011 11:35AM I suspect the sun warmed the helium, which expanded, effectively becoming lighter and able to lift more weight. If he could get off the ground and to altitude while the gas was still cool he would be assured of enough buoyancy to remain at altitude where the air is much cooler. He probably left before dawn so he would have enough time for the flight and be able to arrive while it was still light enough to see where he was landing.

Sep 29th 2011 11:18AM Poor Larry got arrested for "endangering" all the timid folks he passed over. Who knows, he might have "caused" a collision between news helicopters or some other catastrophe. We used to be a nation of adventurers but now have been conditioned into a nation of cowards who expect the “government” to take care of us. How’s it going so far?

Then the politically correct movement takes off, encouraged by dope addled stoners who are now college professors, ACLU lawyers, editors and politicians. Muslims clerics declare holy war on all non-Muslims and get their biggest success by destroying the Twin Towers. Mentally defective liberals in charge of the media encourage the majority of the badly educated who think themselves hip and oh so sophisticated but are actually just timid cowards to accept blatantly Gestapo tactics in the name of security. All this despite the suicide bombings, beheadings, kidnappings, murders, stoning, piracy, and attempts to develop, buy or steal nuclear weapons. We sit stupidly by as they smile, lie through their teeth in English that they are just for power generation while they scream in Arabic how they will destroy Israel and all the West with nuclear bombs. We still refuse to recognize Islam as the greatest world threat it quite obviously is, increasingly scrutinize non-Muslims while excluding Muslims so we don’t offend those who quite obviously pose the greatest threat. We Americans aren't yet the nation of cowards but we certainly have grown a crop of leaders who most certainly are. Wake up! Recognize the real threat and isolate them. It’s insanity not to recognize the threats around you and take the appropriate actions. Can the authorities really be that stupid or is there an even darker plot afoot?

Feb 22nd 2011 9:08PM Any one of you greenies want to guess where the electricity to charge all those electric cars is going to come from? Last I heard our illustrious lier in chief was also bragging he was closing power plants all around the country while writing idiotic regulations to make it impossible to build replacements. Sounds like a great way to destroy a countries infrastructure. Is it possible an educated person could be so stupid as to destroy the power grid before an actual replacement was available? You know; one that works when the sun is not out, the wind is not blowing or located close to where people actually live.
