Jul 28th 2012 8:58AM Incorrect. State law makes it the responsibilty of all establishment that serve alcohol to monitor their patrons, and NOT provide alcohol to those that are obviously over intoxicated.
If they continue to provide alcohol to an obviously over intoxcated patron on their property, they are then legally responsible for the actions and safety of that patron.
To be granted a State Liquor License they must accept this responsibility.

Jul 28th 2012 8:44AM Incorrect! State Law makes it the responsibility of every establishment that serves alcohol, to monitor their patrons and NOT serve those that are overly intoxicated.
Making the establishment legally responsible for the behavior and safety of over intoxicated patrons on their property if they continue to serve them.
All establishments that serve alcohol accept this responsibility when they apply for and are granted a Liquor License by the State.

Jul 28th 2012 8:27AM Most states have a law making it illegal for a businesses that serves alcohol, to serve an obviously drunk patron. It's the bartender's responsibly to tell the patron: "Hey buddy, you've had enough, I can't serve you, you can't have anymore" Making the establishment responsible for the safety of it's partrons.
The family is claiming the hotel did not act as a "responsible bartender" as the law requires. They allowed the guests to have as much alcohol as they wanted without regard for their level of intoxication.
The hotel was responsible for monitoring it's guests and denying alcohol to those who become overly intoxicated, and responsible for the safety of those they serve alcohol to on their property.

Apr 6th 2012 8:09AM She didn't win, the Condo Association decided to settle rather than spend $100,000 in legal fees to continue to fight her lawsuit.
The case wasn't about religious freedom. It was about RULES, that owners cannot affix items or displays to their front doors. The rule applied to everything and everybody, not just religious symbols.
This women decided to make it a religious issue by claming the rule infringed on her right to religious freedom.
Once again the media gets it wrong.
