'Episodes' Series Premiere Recap {AOL TV}
Jan 10th 2011 2:24AM Very well put.
I did, however, watch Shameless just now. And it was very good, although a bit sad. A great character-driven show with good writing.
But yeah, Showtime hit a bad note tonight with Episodes.

Jan 10th 2011 1:41AM This seemed like a bad parody of Hollywood.
Lame.
'Dexter' Season 5 Finale Recap {AOL TV}
Dec 17th 2010 5:27AM Very well said. The viewers here seem to forget how much of the show revolved around Dexter's training, and how the show was tightly written with a great plotline.
This season, on the other hand, was all over the place. I can't understand why real Dexter fans (vs. the casual viewers) are so accepting of this change. I know we can't have a grand slam every season, but the show's production has really changed for the worse.
I personally like this show, but not this season. I'm still hopeful that next season will be great. And I still think Michael C. Hall is one of the best dramatic (and sometimes comedic) actors in the business.
'Dexter' Season 5 Finale Recap {AOL TV}
Dec 14th 2010 1:10AM I don't want each season to be the same, but I don't want the writing to be poor or inferior to the previous season.
And I don't buy the "it's different, so why not enjoy it" argument either. Do it right and please your fans. Don't assume that some of the fans will simply accept whatever you think is right (I'm addressing the producers).
'Dexter' Season 5 Finale Recap {AOL TV}
Dec 13th 2010 11:27AM As a huge Dexter fan from the premiere, this season was so disappointing. There were a number of story choices that didn't work for me, and the casting choices were poor also.
Lumen, as an accomplice, didn't work for me. I know that the producers decided to try something different this season, but she is now someone out there who knows enough to end Dexter (whether or not this also implicates her as well - she can put him away). This broke the rules that Harry drilled into Dexter, and there was little evidence of Harry's influence left this season.
In fact, it seemed that the producers/writers seemed to want to try something different (almost deliberately) this season. Some people might have liked it but I sure didn't.
And what was the point of having the Nanny character around anyhow?
As a huge fan, I'm not going to be blind to the obvious problems this season presented and accept them as perfection (and then defend them bitterly without thinking). Could have this season been worse? Absolutely.
But it should have been written or thought out better. I am so disappointed, but Michael C. Hall is still the best at what he does.
Of course, this is only my opinion.
'Top Chef All Stars' Season 8, Episode 2 Recap {AOL TV}
Dec 9th 2010 3:46AM Ok. This "All-Star" season is really throwing me for a loop. Is it because the competition is so fierce or is it because the judging is so critical?
I could've sworn that Tre received more scorn because of his over-reduced sauce and was headed home. But because Jen defended herself (excessively) and threw it back at the judges, she seemingly got tossed as a result.
It seems that insubordination will get you sent home even if you are considered a favorite.
Look at last week with Elia, who was one of the favorites. She basically told/dared the judges NOT to send her home... and poof! Buh-bye.
This week, Jen questioned whether the judges got it right or knew what they were doing. Poof! Buh-bye.
The other chefs on Jen's team knew what was coming. It's safe to say that ALL OF THE CHEFS know what not to do now.
I hope that Fabio isn't discouraged from making his fantastic jokes and one-liners, because he is still my favorite chef.
But it's still Richard B. or Angelo S. to win... provided they don't say a word.
WHO ARE THE VIEWERS' FAVORITES? POST THEM HERE DAMMIT!
(oh no... now I'm going home...)

'Terriers' Canceled by FX (Update: FX President John Landgraf Speaks) {AOL TV}
Dec 6th 2010 11:06PM Yet the ratings for The Walking Dead are better than ever. I guess the networks are looking at any new series with a "sink or swim" mentality.
A lot of inferior shows on TV were given some time to develop, but the better shows are not.
I don't get it.
