Mastering The Art Of Solo Travel {Gadling}
Aug 7th 2012 12:01AM As for safety, I do take precautions when travelling alone. I think the most important thing is to trust your instincts. If you are uncomfortable in a certain situation or in a certain part of town, get out of that area. Take taxis at night,especially in urban areas. Always have $20 for cab fare and the phone number of the cab company. Just be careful and enjoy your trip.

Summer Hotspot: Baltimore, Maryland {Gadling}
Apr 12th 2012 12:30PM I live about 20 minutes from Baltimore and visit the Inner Harbor quite often,especially during the summer. It is lovely there. As for crime, I have never had any unpleasant experiences. As long as you stay on the beaten path, you are unlikely to have any problems.
This summer will see the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812. The harbor will have tall ships and battle re-enactments. Be sure to see the Baltimore Orioles play at Camden Yards. Don't miss the Walters Art Gallery and the Baltimore Museum of Art,both of which have free admission.

The Red Line serves Union Station. Most of the other attractions you would want to see are served by the Blue and Orange Lines. Be sure to visit Old Town Alexandria just a few minutes outside DC ,

Why Don't the Unemployed Volunteer? {AOL Jobs}
Mar 5th 2010 10:45PM Why don't the unemployed volunteer? Well in my state, you have to file bi-weekly unemployment claims in which you are asked if you searched for work and are able to work. Taking a volunteer position would interfere with the job search and being able to work. In short volunteering could cause one to lose their unemployment benefits.
