Big-ticket Items -- Repair or Replace? {Shopping Articles Blog}

Apr 15th 2012 10:41AM OMG! My appliances are living on borrowed time. My dishwasher is 25 years old and still works great. I do know it isn't long for this world. My stove top and wall oven ditto. I have replaced refrigerators, freezer and washing machines. I also have a 24 year old TV that still works and a couple of other oldies too. I agree that if it will cost more tha a couple hundred bucks to fix, get rid of it.

Are You Wearing Fall 2011's Top 10 Colors? {Shopping Articles Blog}

Aug 28th 2011 3:30PM Love the colors. No Black! These are happy colors and I have heard that when the colors are happy, times will be better. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

Allegiant Air Mulls Fee for Carry-on Bags {AOL Travel News}

Mar 12th 2011 10:54AM Flying used to be fun. It no longer is. I am glad I am getting to the point where I no longer travel very often. I would prefer to drive but am getting too old for long trips. However, I do need to carry on certain essentials, like medicines, etc. Some of these take up a lot of space so do need a carry on. Maybe it would be less expensive to check two bags and just carry on a very large tote that will fit under the seat. People will eventually somehow revolt.

Shrimp Scampi Recipe {That's Fit}

Feb 18th 2011 10:41AM I have always made shrimp scampi with olive oil, a little butter and garlic. Sometimes powder and sometimes fresh. Usually served with a good green salad with a vinaigrette dressing. Once in a while I fix rice but I need to limit my use of rice or pasta. This sounds good to me and I am going to try it.

Film Critic Insults Award-Winning Actors, Makes Annette Bening Cry {PopEater}

Jan 12th 2011 10:48AM Why does anyone really Care. It is so immaterial.

Hollywood Sells Fewest Movie Tickets in 14 Years {PopEater}

Jan 3rd 2011 1:08PM On the Oprah question, it is too soon to tell. Interesting though. I am wondering if it is going to be a big series of reality shows. If so, I will not be watching as I really hate so called reality shows. There doesn't seem to be a lot else on anymore thogh.

Hollywood Sells Fewest Movie Tickets in 14 Years {PopEater}

Jan 3rd 2011 1:05PM The movies I will pay to see are few and far between. Those prices will keep me out of the theaters. This is sad since I really love to see the movies on a big screen. But, there is a limit. I think the movie makers are making a big mistake in charging so much.

The Palins Are Planning to Leave Alaska for Good {PopEater}

Dec 27th 2010 12:50PM Who really cares? I am all for a woman president as long as it isn't Sarah Palin. There are very good and intelligent women out there who could run the country efficiently. Let's find one of them. I honestly can not understand Palin's attraction to anyone except maybe her husband. She totally turns me off. I do not lean to the left nor can I ever be a right winger with their holier than thou judgemental ideas.

In Defense of Tinsel {Shelterpop}

Dec 20th 2010 11:06AM I love tinsel also. Although I haven't put it on my tree for years. I have a f ond memory of going to a movie theater in Portland, OR in the 1940's. One of those beautiful old theaters with a huge foyer. They had a big tree completely decorated with tinsel and blue ornaments and lights. It was to me, a teenager, the most beautiful tree I had ever seen. Since I remember it 65 years later it did make an impression.

ABC Drops Remaining Episodes of 'The Whole Truth' From Schedule {AOL TV}

Dec 7th 2010 11:57AM I am watching more and more PBS shows. I have satellite TV with a lot of stations and frequently find nothing I am interested in. Ugh! Reality shows, lame comedys, and more of the same old lawyer shows and station after station of paid programming which, with the exception of a couple, I will never watch. I like Castle. It is getting to be the only show I look forward to. I do watch a few Food networks shows and assorted news shows. My e-reader is getting more and more use. Kindle, I love you.
