ATM Dangers {Gadling}

Mar 23rd 2006 10:37AM I was once in Southern France using my ATM card. I put it in the machine and tried to take out about 200 euros. It didnt' work for some reason. I put my card back in, tried for 200 euros again. Again, it didn't work. So one last time I tried and it worked.

When I returned home, my bank had deducted the equivalent of 600 euros from my account. I couldn't prove that the machine didn't give me the money, it was a huge mess.

That's the only time I've ever had a problem with an ATM abroad.

The Overlooked Parisian Library {Gadling}

Mar 9th 2006 11:48AM I read that article, and I found it pretty cool. I was a student in Paris and spent a long time in these libraries. ANd it is true, they are definitely refuges from the hustle and bustle of the city. Some of them are simply beautiful and architectural gems.

Paris Pano {Gadling}

Flight Attendant Loses It {Gadling}

Mar 3rd 2006 10:07PM OH NO! I love to travel but I can be a nervous airline passenger, and hearing that story makes me cringe! I would have been a mess to see that happen!

The Death of Travel Books: More Digital Resources for Travelers {Gadling}

Feb 26th 2006 10:26AM I find this extremely interesting. I own a travel website for Paris and we sell great walking tours that people can download, but this is the next step in our business. However, I am still a believer in the old fashioned guide book! Old habits die hard...

Adventure Divas: Empowering the Female Traveler {Gadling}

Feb 12th 2006 8:42PM It always amazes me that some women use their gender as a reason to stay home and not travel. Granted ,there are some corners of the world I would not venture to as a woman alone. But I recall taking a solo trip to Turkey a few years back, and people were astonished at my "courage". It was a delightful, beautiful country, full of friendly faces. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the nay-sayers.

Hotel de Crillon {Gadling}

Feb 12th 2006 8:32PM This is expensive but a great, GREAT hotel. It's located right on the Place de la Concorde, and it's Lance Armstrong's post Tour de France hotel of choice!
If I were going to be in Paris on Tuesday it would surely tempt me!
