Help! My Children's Mother Teaches Our Kids to Cheat and Lie {ParentDish}
Feb 26th 2011 1:16AM What a joke! A guy writes about a power struggle he's having with his ex, and Ms. Smarty Pants, who's written a book titled "Parenting Without Power Struggles", tells HIM not to struggle with HER.
I hope this guy has the balls to ignore charlatans like her.
At Witz' End: The more I drive it, the more the Nissan Leaf is (and isn't) like an EV1 {Autoblog Green}
Nov 22nd 2010 12:15AM Gee, I have a dilemma. I'm driving to Philly this T'Day weekend, about 270 miles from here.
Do I take my family in my Leaf, or my Volt?

Nov 21st 2010 11:59PM "Zero-emissions" my ass. COAL had to be burned to generate the electricity used to power these things. COAL.
Only the worst kind of willful ignorance , a soothing and conveniently exculpating ignorance at that, would allow a person to say that because his auto emits nothing as he drives it, the energy it runs on was derived "emissions'free".
Salt {Kitchen Daily}
Nov 6th 2010 2:20PM This reminds me of a Simpsons episode, where Marge responds to family praise for a dish she prepared, saying "the secret ingredient is salt".
AN columnist on plug-in vehicles: "Electricity is not sexy" {Autoblog Green}
Jul 20th 2010 4:36PM @ DaveD: "The only way this type of stupidity will ever change is if we hold people like Child accountable for what they say. When the 2013 LA auto show rolls around, he should have to stand up and take credit/blame for stupid things they write now."
Perhaps you should acquaint yourself with the "marketplace of ideas" and "freedom of speech and the press".
If the author is wrong, then he is wrong. To the extent he is wrong about a lot of things, the more credibility he will lose. That's where the "marketplace" comes in. cf: the dinosaur media at CBS, ABC and NBC.
Are you a would-be member of the Thought Police? Who is this "we" that will "hold the author accountable"? How will "we" hold him so? Jail him? Take away his job? Refuse him access to post on the Interent? Your comment is strangely authoritarian, coming from a putatively peac/love/dove liberal enamored with EVs.
Remember what the humorist Will rogers said: "We're all ignorant, only on different subjects.
So please climb down from your censoriousness.
Top 5 Fuel-Efficient Vehicles We Want (But Can't Have) {AOL Autos - Translogic}
Jul 6th 2010 5:52PM Kevin, see if you can wrap your one working neuron around this thought: the reason Big Oil drills in deep water is because the green weenies have FORCED them to. If oil companies were as powerful as you loons believe, there would be NO electrics or hybrids, and we would see oil rigs from our beaches in the Gulf, off California, in Alaska etc. Get real.
Carlos Ghosn: 2011 Nissan Leaf sold out {Autoblog Green}
May 26th 2010 1:15PM Anyone who thinks they can drive one of these flimsy things safely on a major highway is nuts.
When a couple hundred drivers are reduced to strawberry jam in accidents drivers in larger cars would walk away from, people will think long and hard before plunking down $33K for a death-trap.
And oh btw: most electricity in America comes from coal-fired plants, so CO2 reduction can't be a reason for owning a Leaf --- unless you're seriously confused.
Napa Valley, Land of Cult Wines, Faces Record Defaults {Housingwatch}
Mar 11th 2010 6:06PM WTF???? Why would Bush be responsible for declining land values in California???? Have any of you morons looked at the financial situation in that state? Are any of you aware that Barney Frank and the Dems allowed Fannie Mae to run amuck, that Frank can be heard on-line saying that he "wants to roll the dice some more on affordable housing"??? Are you not aware that Rahm made millions off of Fannie, as did Jamie Gorelick and a host of other Democrat pols?
Rush Limbaugh Tries to Enlist 'Jewish Bankers' Against Obama {Politics Daily}
Jan 22nd 2010 7:47PM "I also try to show that our interests and our ideals, both as Americans and as Jews, have come in recent decades to be better served by the forces of the Right. In the course of describing and agreeing with the book the other day, Rush Limbaugh cited a few of the numerous reasons for the widespread puzzlement over the persistence of liberalism within the American Jewish community. And while discussing those reasons, he pointed to the undeniable fact that for 'a lot of people' -- 'prejudiced people,' as he called them twice -- he was not referring to himself; he was referring to bigots, prejudiced people..." I was refer to Jew haters -- and, Mr. Foxman, this is what's been omitted from what you read that I said. I was alluding to what you know exists. You know that there are Jew haters out there and I know there are Jew haters out there, and many of them are in the Obama administration or in his circle of friends. "
IOW Rush wasn't enlisting Jewish bankers against Obama.
Gibson, it's gotta SUCK being such a mindless toady for the Left.
Should overweight passengers pay extra for airline tickets? {Gadling}
Dec 11th 2009 11:05AM Someone said: "The airlines keep squeezing in more and more seats—when I first started flying, there were two seats on either side of the aisle—not three. Then they added the third seat on both sides and diminished the width of the seats."
Malarkey. The first commercial passenger jets such as the 707 and the 727 (still in use) all had three-abreast seating on both sides of the aisle, at least for coach. The additional seats were added by diminishing the spacing between rows.
Someone: " Why should heavier persons have to pay the difference"?
Because they take up more space inside a narrow tube filled with other people, AND add weight to an airplane that has limited lifting capacity. If YOU weigh 300 pounds, and take up two seats (or slop over into mine), YOU should pay more.
" It's the greed of the airlines that has caused the problem."
Yeah, those "greedy" airlines with their fabulous profits --- oh wait! Haven't we had a dozen or so airlines go out of business or file for bankruptcy because they weren't making money? Snork!
" If the heavier person has to pay more—then those people with screaming children should have to pay more for the disturbance they cause."
A complete non sequitur!!! Someone needs to take Critical Thinking 101! Free clue: not all children "scream". Would you like to have the FA's walk around collecting by-the-minute surcharges for those who do?
