World's Ugliest Hotels {AOL Travel News}

Mar 8th 2011 4:32PM What an arrogant article. How is it that its author deems herself such an expert or arbiter of good taste in architecture. Her list is a snotty-- and snooty, joke.

Giant Squid Lands on Delray Beach {AOL Travel News}

Feb 14th 2011 4:39PM Your point is valid. If this creature wanted to beach itself, it may be an indication of underlying psychological distress-- it needs treatment. There may be a "Squid Whisperer" in the Delray area (there probably was during the real estate bubble there-- if the real estate agents felt that having a Squid Whisperer would have sold units, believe me, they would have had one).

She Found Out Her Fiance Was Gay {MyDaily}

Jan 5th 2011 8:53AM Kiri, you've had a rough experience but you're still young, beautiful, good-looking and what a terrific writer! You need to move on-- you know that-- and you are obviously doing that. Ten years may seem a long chunk of time to "lose" but it wasn't lost. There were good times, as you noted, and in the long run, in the fulness of what will be a long and happy life, Lord willing, you're a stronger and deeper person. (And may my preceding sentence here apply equally to Aaron).

Top 10 Luxury Adventures of the Year {Luxist}

Jan 4th 2011 10:08AM A truly hilarious list-- someone apparently blew the dust off a genuine old bottle of absinthe.

Abandoned Six Flags New Orleans video is creeping us out {Gadling}

Nov 9th 2010 9:41AM A metaphor--and an omen, and for what I dare not speak.

Halloween Candy Nightmares: 10 Worst Choices {That's Fit}

Oct 23rd 2010 9:44AM Interesting list--no surprises there, nicely written. It seems that most of us have been food clobbering the neighbor's kids all these years while probably limiting access to this sweet junk to our own. Are we subliminally elbowing ahead of the Joneses by treacherously fattening up their pride and joys? Who cares about your new Lexus or exercise pool?--my kid is svelte!

Original Hershey Chocolate Factory closing in Hershey, Pennsylvania {Gadling}

Oct 7th 2010 3:12PM Company leadership must be dense. Why close an iconic landmark and lose all the goodwill, and bucks, it can bring in. Do what Sam Adams beer did. They maintain an old brick brewery in their dear old Boston home--replete with copper kettles and everything looking very cosy. What tours, what gemutlich, what gelt! Meanwhile, almost all the beer is made in a modern plant miles away. Sharper folks at Sam Adams-- no negatives, all positives.

China Plans Giant, Road-Straddling 'Buses' to Defeat Traffic {Switched}

Oct 2nd 2010 3:53PM What an inspired concept! The Chinese are such an impressive people and are making important strides in so many areas--not just for themselves but for the world at large.
