More Women Having Kids With More Than One Man {ParentDish}
Apr 5th 2011 8:45PM I grew up with one sister, one stepsister, one stepbrother, and one half brother. A blended "family" if ever there was one. Since I know that kind of family is not always Brady Bunch happy, I wanted a better life for myself. I have four kids, one baby daddy...who is also still my husband. Maybe they should try interviewing normal people for these studies.
The Hatch-Palucks, Week 21: 120 Minutes {ParentDish}
Mar 4th 2011 4:52PM Having had 4 kids in 7 years, I was always trim and in shape when they were younger. Now that they are 10, 13, 15, and 18, I have to work out and watch what I eat. Even though I was physically exhausted at the end of each day, it was the best in terms of exercise.
Grocery Chain Wegmans Freezing Prices on Food {WalletPop}
Feb 23rd 2011 10:38PM I absolutely love Wegman's and this is one of the reasons. They know that the customers are why they are in business. I will continue to do the majority of my grocery shopping at Wegman's and won't move to Charlottesville, VA from Leesburg, VA until they have a Wegman's. Thank you so much, Wegman's.
What's Cheaper: Staying On or Off Disney Property? Crunching the Numbers {AOL Travel News}
Feb 23rd 2011 5:04PM You forgot the great perk of having the shops send your purchases to your room so that you do not have to lug them around all day or get a locker. Your article was interesting. My family has tried it both ways and find that we enjoy the Disney Magic. We also like the concierge services in some of the hotels. As the kids have gotten older and shown interest in Universal, we've started splitting our trip with 4 nights at a Disney Deluxe Resort and 2 or 3 nights at Universal. During Spring Break or Summer, staying at a Universal hotel is the only way you can ride any rides. Another reason to love Disney, anyone can get a fastpass...for free, nt just Disney Resort guests.
Childhood Self-Control Is a Predictor of Adult Success, Study Shows {ParentDish}
Jan 25th 2011 3:01PM One of my children had incredible tantrums when he was two years old. He is extremely intelligent and often could not understand why he couldn't do or have something. Today, he is a bright, self controlled 18 year old. That study is absurd.
A Good Night's Breast: Does Breast-Feeding Mean Less Sleep? {ParentDish}
Dec 26th 2010 8:01PM Of my four children, I breast fed my oldest son for the shortest period of time. Only one month because he ate continuously and I couldn't get anything done, much less find the time to sleep. When I switched him to formula, I could sleep the night through while my husband woke up every hour to feed the little glutton. That hungry baby is now almost 18 and a National Merit Commended Scholar. In those almost 18 years he has been on antibiotics twice! It's not whether you feed your baby breast milk or formula that makes them smart or healthy.
A Cross Lacrosse Shouldn't Bear {Fanhouse Main}
May 15th 2010 12:54PM I am the mother of four children, three of whom play lacrosse with a passion that most people cannot understand. My oldest son is a Junior in High School. The look of disgust and sorrow on his face when he heard of the Yeardly Love killing told me that I have done something right as a parent. George Hugely is not a murderer because he was a wealth white kid who played lacrosse. He is a murderer because he is an alcoholic with anger issues. People need to stop "profiling." All of the young men my son plays lacrosse with are smart, kind gentlemen! Stop bashing lacrosse!
Your Day Care Choice May Have an Impact on Your Child's Later Success in School {ParentDish}
May 14th 2010 3:25PM Seems to be a correlation. Maybe more parents need to downsize the house, sell off one or both of the luxury cars, skip one or two of the vacations per year in order to live on one salary and raise your children. My husband and I did just that. It wasn't easy. We brought four children into this world and put everything we had into raising them. I stayed home, which cut our income, but we survived until my husband was making more so that we could be comfortable again. Now, I realize that I might have to start over with another career when the youngest is in college since I've been out of the work force for 17 years. Sounds a little frightening, but when I see all that my children accomplish, everything we did was worth it.
Lane Bryant Says ABC, Fox Censored Plus-Size Lingerie Commercial {Stylelist}
Apr 22nd 2010 1:14PM Maybe the TV execs were more concerned with their young viewers than giving plus sized models airtime. I have three young boys and a daughter, I would like to enjoy a TV show without having to send them out of the room during the commercials. No, it isn't appropriate for a plus sized model or any sized model to flash her cleavage at 9:00 so that my 12 year old son has to ogle it. I say, stop whining, the TV execs were only doing their job and, for that, I thank them.
House Passes Final Health Care Bill, 220 to 207 {Politics Daily}

We don't need to "opt out" of Medicare and Social Security. This year Medicare will pay out more than it takes in. I don't believe there will be anything to "opt out" of by the time I need Medicare. And, it's just a matter of time before Social Security takes the same path to bankruptcy. My kids are currently in private school so my tax dollars are spent on your kids! You can send Obama a thank you note when I have to enroll my kids in public school and use those tax dollars for myself because Mr. Obama is taxing me out the wazoo!
